I just purchased the RadioLink RC8X off AliExpress and hope it's not to good to be true. All said and done it came to only $190 with tax, and a summer sale promo for an additional $40 off. Plus free shipping. It is the same setup you would get if ordering it from Amazon for $319. Shipping is about a month but anything I have ordered from AliExpres in the past has always arrived sooner.

Just got mine in from Amazon for Prime Day. 255 instead of 320 like said above. I don't really like ordering from Aliexpress. I believe the all the products on the Radiolink Aliexpress store ships out of China? If so, it would take a while to get here to the US, so that's why I like Amazon.
Back to it, I got it all setup with my cars. Using the R6FG in my B74.1 and R4FGM in my Mini B. Already tested it out, and yes, the R8FG V2 receiver is way too big to fit in modern 2wd and 4wd race kits, mostly buggies, but it goes the same for short course, stadium and mini truggies. I don't really need to be running down to faster speeds as I am only club racing for fun, not to be competitive.
The R8FG receivers are ideally meant for speed run cars (dual and long antennas), and crawlers for the 8 channels.
Haven't tested it out yet, but will get more into it on Thursday for racing.
I really like the feel of it. I did adjust the throttle trigger and wheel to my liking. Also setup my themes and screen/LED on/off timers. Currently using the 8 AAAs as I need a 4mm to JST lead to charge the lipo. For the lipo, I just cut up a blue shop towel so the battery doesn't move around. I am using my own lanyard as the included one is a bit short. (I like using the radio at my waist and not up near my chest) But you don't have to use the lanyard. I didn't update the software on the radio yet, which I should probably do soon.

Has anyone tried running the version 2.1 at 7.4v? The label says 3.0 to 6.0 volts. But the older version went to 10v I think. Would be nice to get a little extra from my servo.
also loving the RC8X radio, on the fence about shelving my 10px. The screen responsiveness is fanstastic.. it’s like they took the best part of the Dx6r and fit it to a profile of the 10px. My driving ain’t good enough to tell the difference in response time vs the Futaba and Radiolink.

I use the R4FGM V1.1 in my Losi Mini B (receiver came with my 8X), I run it at 6v I believe as I cannot adjust the bec voltage in the esc I have currently.

Coming back to this. Has anyone had issues? Signal dropping / loss, cutouts, freezing, and range is super low? Had issues since September and they haven't fixed anything. I am on their FB group and multiple people have this same issue. It is on ALL firmwares. I tested the following. 1.1.8, 1.2.0, 1.1.5, and 1.2.5. Same issues with both FHSS V1 and V2 modes. And same issues across ALL receivers. I tested the following. R8FG V2.0, R4FGM V1.1, and multiple R6FG V4 and V5 receivers. Getting ready to sell it and I am looking into the new NB4+ from flysky. Just wanted to know how many/much people have ran into these issues.
Mostly indoor offroad racing and outdoor bashing.
Setups in my cars
B74.1: R8FG V2.0 receiver. Dual antenna wires. each antenna is wrapped up. One is pointing up and taped down near my battery. The other is pointing down and taped near my servo. Had the same results with a Hobbywing XR10 Pro Legacy and a new XR10 Stock Spec G2 100A. Xpert 4000LV servo, ProTek HV fan. Mylaps transponder. BEC running at 6V. Will also be shortly running a protek glitch buster just to see if it solves any browning out issues.
Mini B: R4FGM V1.1. BEC running 6V. Amazon King Val esc. Savox micro servo.
Rustler: De-cased R6FG V4. BEC running 6V. Traxxas 2075R servo. Hobbywing Max10 G1 ESC. (antenna wrapped up in rx box)
Slash: R6FG V4 (or V5, can't remember) BEC Running 6V. Amazon 20kg servo. Hobbywing Max10 SCT esc. (antenna wrapped up in rx box)
My uncle says to go with Futaba. I agree with that. Futaba is a name brand. Reliable and been around for so long. If I go that route, most likely with a 4PM Plus. But my only reason with going with the flysky is because of the interface. Its more modern. And receivers are antenna less and reasonable price. Futaba receivers from what I seen are around 60 to 100 bucks. (He has a older 7PX, he won't let me touch it lol)
