Hey Guys,
I am looking at future upgrades to my Mini-Z stuff, and the biggest thing that I have problems with, other than my driving skills, is using the phone type lap counting apps for the challenge. The 2 I have tried work almost flawlessly outside with my Reflex 14th scale, but the room that my track is in is dim and during a 75 lap run they will miss 3 or 4 laps or it will false count a lap or 2. That throws me off trying to make sure I'm driving where the app will read vs. the best line for the course, and I wind up bouncing off the walls!
So I am wondering how accurate are the "EZLap" type IR systems? The only transponder system I have used the wire under the dirt type, and as long as the laptop it was hooked to was working, it was flawless. Are they worth the money, and if so is one brand better for this scale?
Thanks for any help!!! Drew

Sad I didn't get to run this month, hopeful for next
I also got a DWS to try on my AWD and will try to run it too?
Poor_Boy did you shave the splitter on that mclaren? Is that allowed in box stock? I'm split between wanting to do it on my amg gt3 and using it as a punishing training tool

Welcome AlvBo! I've only been running Mini-Zs for about 6 months and have learned alot from the Great Guys here!
I have seen pics of others running box stock with splitters ground down/removed, so I would THINK it's ok. But I'm not runnin nothin, so I would get a 4sure answer from the guys in charge before doing any changes!
Get ready for some challenging fun!!! Drew

I'm in the middle of selling a bunch of 8th and 10th stuff and plan on buying myself some RCP and the easy laps system but my wire halo is going to be about 4" above the track.

Thanks abailey21! I am a regular at Kennon, MUCH MORE than my wife would like! I just got my PN disk damper setup installed on my MR03. MAN what a difference it makes over the box stock setup! I had to trim the rear window of my Jomurema body to clear the PN dual spring shock when using the factory MM motor pod( I'm guessing the mounting point for the disk post is different heights between factory and aftermarket motor pods), but no biggie, as it won't be box stock again. I have some other hobby stuff I'm in the process of selling to fund my mini-z, but I doubt I will make enough to fund the laptimer and a new radio, so I'm trying to figure out which is the best buy right now.
Now to go try the different adjustments I now have in the rear end to best suit the track and my driving!

Instead of messing with the auto scale RTR body, I just got a Jomurema body and I am SUPER HAPPY I DID!! It doesn't catch the rails unless you really hit them square! It deflects off of them pretty well! It has a pretty generic look, but if you are good at painting I have seen some pretty nice looking paint jobs online! Kenon has them in a few different base colors.

you will be fine I have run the 12c with no fender splitter and a shaved down front bumper. Main thing is shaving the front splitter because it sticks out further then the bumper and put leverage and cracks the front end

I bought one of the new GL Racing Lambo bodies. Before doing anything, I trimmed off the dive planes and the front splitter. I'm hoping that the rounded nose without protrusions will help it fend off walls like the Jomurema, but look better doing it.
