Default Why are some receivers only for a certain scale and or electric/nitro only ?

Just received my Sanwa rx-492 and noticed it’s for 1/10th ep(electric power) cars only…

I have seen this with Futuba receivers as well where they make a ep only version.

So what gives does anyone know the reason behind it ? Because I’m planning to run this in my 8th scale Ebuggy and honestly don’t see what the issue might be.

Thanks

I think it is primarily range and potential to lose connection. The "e" receiver from Futaba have internal antennas and one would expect less range.

The lack of external antenna lowers the range. They figure you will run nitro or 1/8 on a bigger track and losing control of those monsters could be bad and don't want you to be able to blame them

Yeah that was a thought I had. Input voltage is 7.4 so I didn’t think a 8th scale esc would overwhelm it.

my local track is not big so range won’t be an issue.

thanks everyone!
