Our rules that are run most everywhere (Florida and the snowbirds- the orginators of the USA class). Any 21.5 motor- 1 cell- any 1/12th chassis- WGT striped tires-- and any GT body). We also run for 6 minutes. So places are trying the Rubber tires -There are now two types Yokomo and Scott Jakes. We tested Scotts both indoors and outdoors. They work okay in doors but not outdoors. The Yokomos are alot different. Will be trying them out on carpet in two weeks. If someone down here wants to run either rubber tires in out club race is is okay with us. Not sure what they are going to do for the snowbirds?
When I looked at the British Radio Car Association rules they don't allow shocks, only dampening tubes. Is that part of your rules?

I found them two diifferent places - A main had the rears and Ebay had the fronts. Mounted them last night to clean them up today. I will be giving a set to my friend to try outside next weekend. He also tried the others outdoors and they did not work.
When you find them there are two rings the outer will fit on the F1 rims with alittle sanding. Or you can follow the utube video on what you can do with it for a second set.

Thats what I said. you can make a 2nd set by following what the video said. We did that back in the day with the first TC tires. I see guys are doing the same with off road tires.By the way the yokomo tires mounted are 43mm.Easy to clean up on my tire truer.

Yesterday we completed the annual "Hangover" race at the Gate in Brunswick, Ohio. Our facility is limited to 40 people right now for obvious reasons and we had a entry waiting list so full house so to speak. Our "SJT rubber tire" GT-12 class was the largest class of the event. A ton of fun and hugely competitive. Top two qualifiers ran long 32 lap runs and the remaining 4 "A" main cars had fast 31's. Several of the "B" main cars also had 31 lap runs. One thing I noted was in the "A" qualifier group that the qualifier was run without a single car being passed by the TQ racer. This is on a track where the fastest lap was 9.3 seconds. We only ran 5 minute qualifiers to shorten the day. That is how competitive the class is. The "A" winner did so by a little over 2 seconds. Second thru fourth were in a short 6 foot train at the finish.

I am struggling keeping my interest in this class... We are running HW G3R 21.5 motors on the SJT rubber tires. The rubber tires have a lot less grip than foam, duh, and I hate dealing with foam tires, but this class is losing my interest very quickly. I will admit the bodies are cool though.
