Things seem ready to go. Done first systems check in 13 months, of loop etc. this am. Track seems good so we will look to get under around 9am tomorrow (Sunday). We are yet to get onto RC Sign UP as not had a meeting until now so either sign up on the day or try the old online entries page on clubs website.
http://www.stivesrc.com/meetingentry/enter.php
We will need to collect your contact details on the day for Covid requirements.

Entry will be $5 and again we are yet to get an online payment method set up so far, so please try to bring the correct monies.

Showground has done up the carpark area near the track and expects people to park in the designated car park spaces. Try to stay off the grass and gravel.

Think that is it. Hope a few of you can make it tomorrow.

Next Sunday (17th Jan) should be our first race meeting of 2021. It will also be our AGM and the club committee for 2021 needs to be selected. If you would like to get involved with the club committee then this will be your chance. There was no AGM in 2020 as we had no drivers stand and hence no racing, from Oct 2019 thru to Nov 2020. The committee from 2019 stayed on as we worked through all the approvals and processes required by council, to build a new drivers stand. I would like to again thank everyone in the club who laboured away on many Sundays in 2020, to build the stand.
Special thanks to Meady for all his work, skill and guidance. He was instrumental in getting the stand done and to the quality it is.
Club racing will hopefully happen regularly in 2021. We need to look at the track layout and continue discussions with council re future locations for SIRCCC within the Showground as they work through changes for the site.
But hopefully we just get in a lot of race meetings.

Due to SIRCCC losing access to the storage building near the track (and having no other options on the Showground for storage) there are a few items that I would like to give away to members (past, present or future) rather than disposing of them.
All can be picked up from me at the upcoming AGM or another club meet.
Send PM or email via clubs email address if these would be of use to you.
1. Venom Gambler SCT. Comes with controller and esc and motor and some parts. Thing is pretty soft plastics in the arms etc. so not sure how good it would hold up to the usual Truck racing antics.
2. ACME Touring Car parts. Best I can tell these are parts for one of the ACME (Acme RC or Racing) touring cars. N.B. No wheels, shocks or body but it seems you can still buy these cars (I at least found a website).
3. Truck wheels and tyres. 12mm hex style. Not really an option for racing at St Ives but maybe for something else you have?

Send PM or email to clubs email address if interested.

Venom SCT gone to one of our new members who joined up in late 2019, just before the drivers stand got closed. But he has been keen as one of the first to return at our one and only 2020 club day.

Club race day tomorrow 17 Jan 2021. Plan is to set up and start to take entries around 8.45am. Hopefully can get this done in 15 minutes so we can start the AGM at 9.00am and get that wrapped up quickly enough to start racing around 9.30am.
Much easier if people do their membership via the email and online but if you can't then we will try to take memberships along with race entries, tomorrow. Cheers.

Thanks to all those who attended our first meet for 2021 and who participated in the AGM. Committee for 2021 has been chosen. General points of note.
1. Request to change race days from our traditional 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month, to 2nd & 4th Sundays. Hence our next race meeting will be on the 14th February.
2. The club will move to introduce Live RC race software. This will bring us in line with other Sydney Off Road RC clubs. But as it comes at a monthly cost, participants at AGM agreed to an increase of race days fees to $10 for 1st class and the $5 for each additional class.
3. The club will look to make some changes to track layout and the facility during 2021. We are limited in what we can achieve within council approvals but now that the drivers stand is complete we can concentrate on some other aspects.

Remember memberships for 2021 are due. Thanks to all those who have paid already.

Cheers, Thommo (President)

Reminder that St Ives RC Car Club are shifting race days to 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month, in 2021. So no racing this coming Sunday. Will have to wait till the 14th.

Plan is for Club Race day at St Ives this coming Sunday 14th Feb. We will take registration and payments from about 9am on the day as still to finalise best online rego and payment option. Hope to get racing by 9.30am.
Forecast is pretty wet Saturday (10-20mm) but much drier on Sunday, but even though track surface is carpet, the surrounding clay/ dirt may be an issue for safety of marshals etc.
We'll have to see how it looks Saturday afternoon/ evening and will assess (knowing weather forecasts are not always right).

Track checked. No standing water. Ground is soft under foot but surprisingly good. Most of the marshalling areas should be on the astro sections. Carpet should dry out as the day progresses so i think we go ahead and look at 9am rego with racing to start 9.30 or 9.45am
Might want dirt tyres till carpet dries then can resume carpet tyres.

Plan is for a St Ives RC club day this coming Sunday (28th Feb). Will look at taking Registrations on the day around 9am and get started around 9.30am.
Bring your lunch etc. but there seems to be coffee vans around with recent new playground drawing the crowds to the Showground (and some people to be able to view some RC racing).
Hope weather holds.

Hi to all at the St Ives club,

Former club member here dating back to the mid 90's, looking to dust off some of my equipment and make an appearance at a club meeting in the near future. Just wanted to clarify what the turn limit is for motors in stock class at St Ives? I have a couple of 17.5T motors but a friend of mine got set up to run in stock by Campbelltown Hobbies recently and was sold a 13.5T motor? We recently had a practice together at St Ives and I was left in his wake on the straight, so just hoping to reacquaint myself with the law of the land. Thanks

Jimmy
