Do older servos from the FM era work with newer 2.4ghz receivers/brushless/lipo set ups?
Was told that the older Airtronics servos will burn up if done. I have both airtronics and a Ko Propo servos from the 90’s that would like to not burn up.

Yes and no.....
The older analog servo's only work wild old type servo signals. So thats is with a 50Hz 20msec framerate. Most better transmitters do work with faster framerates and that will blow up the servo. With most systems like Futaba you can choose "normal" or "analog" servo type.

They work fine. Some radios won’t access their fastest frame rates with analog servos but they shouldn’t hurt the servos, either. I’ve used really old Airtronics 257’s and 258’s with newer Spektrum stuff with no issues.

Most cheap spektrum stuff is still working with 16msec frames, The more advanced systems are selectabel between 5, 11 and 16msec where for sure with 5msec you will ruin the servo.

Speaking from experience, modern transmitter/receiver with the transmitter on "Normal" mode I didn't have any problems with analog servos. But burned up a couple servos with the transmitter on "Fast". One of the annoying "features" of my Futaba transmitter is that it doesn't change the mode based on the setting in the model selected unless you turn the transmitter off/on.
