FlySky Noble NB4
#502
I'm not sure if anyone here has an NB4 but I got mine last week and figured I'd start a thread for it.
Mine came with the large HV RX that has an external antenna, the FGr4 as well as the much smaller FGr4S that has an internal antenna and only supports up to 8.4V instead of 18V. The FGr4S doesn't have the range the FGr4 has but it's easily less than half the size and it's nice not having an antenna.
So far I'm really happy with mine. The build quality is great. Most of it is aluminum with the exception of the trigger, grip, and some of the trim wheels. I'm not a lefty so it isn't that important to me but the wheel can be moved to either side. It seems like people are worried about the wheel staying in place since it doesn't lock into position but it has a good amount of resistance and I haven't had it move at all while driving. The telemetry is nice and I have a temperature and voltage sensor on the way to further test it. All of the buttons are rebindable. I've got a couple controlled a lap/race timer and another to toggle 10% throttle when I start the engine - not completely necessary but nice to have. The batteries seem to last forever... it barely dropped in voltage over a few hours of practice and you can detach the base battery since there's a 2600mAh 18650 in the handle that can power the TX by itself. This makes it quite a bit lighter as the base battery has an aluminum case and has some heft to it.
Receivers seem to be going for $25-30 which is more than usual for FlySky but seems reasonable considering the telemetry. Unfortunately the NB4 does *not* work with older receivers so you will have to replace them if you already run a FlySky radio. The radio itself seems to be going for $170-220 right now. So far I think it's definitely worth the money but we'll see how it holds up.
Feel free to discuss or ask questions in this thread.

Is there ANY way possible to have this tx do an "on/off/on" switch for a crawler winch? I have messed with the tx for a week to no avail. I use the gt5 system (included with my redcat gen8 axe edition) & like it a lot. Got the noble to replace the "rtr" tx for a nicer tx.
ANY (& all!) help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Frewster: yes.
FINALLY!
I have a dedicated knob for my servo winch!
I think it was "rc addict" that lead me in the Correct direction!
MY particular servo winch, it free spools out, & I can winch the cable in, so it works!
Thank YOU again!!!

I know the micro receiver is coming out but the project must go on.
It was pretty tough removing all the pins because the tray is held down with glue or something. Took me more than an hour to do what should have been 10 minutes job. At the end of the day it's not really worth the board mutilation. Just wait for micro receiver if you want low profile receiver for 1/28 car.

Hello, has anyone had the USB connection issue with Win 10 and successfully fixed it? I set my Noble to "USB EMULATOR", but win 10 fails to recognize device and I see an error in my device manager. Trying to use Noble with VRCPro.
Thanks for any responses.

Just to be 100% sure, your transmitter is off, correct?

The noble is better than 75% metal. With 2 li-ion batteries, it has weight. That being said, unless u spike it display 1st into to asphalt, it should last a racer for years!
The recievers are inexpensive on Amazon, selling for about $25-$30.00 tiny little things too UNLESS u get the antenna reciever which are a bit bigger.
All in all, it should last for as long as YOU want it. IMHO, being 4 channels, it is limited. I prefer 5+ channels crawling.
