Tekno EB410.2 Thread
#91
For 4WD, I believe that AE/Yokomo use the same front offset, and TLR/Xray/HB Racing/Schumacher use the same front offset. Tekno has followed TLR in the past for wheel offset (short course), so I'm not surprised they went with TLR offset on their 4wd.

But the ET410 uses AE truck offset, rather than TLR. Being an owner of the ET, I almost bought the AE buggy wheels for the 410.2, just based on assumption, from the ET build.

Similar issue here, I have AE offset 4wd fronts, because my Yokomo YZ4 uses AE offset, B74 I had of course AE, so when shop people or say you need AE offset, ok no problem, pick up the wheels & some carpet tires, & move on. So now I am unable to run this again today because I have to go out my way to find or order the proper wheel hexes to fix this, “Ain’t nobody got time for that“. I’m back to running my yokomo this weekend. Correct wheels, hexes in kit or specific notes on pg1 in the manual would have resolve this.

Bummer you had issues in this area but the information needed was correct and right on Teknos EB410.2 web page. Sorry to hear people are not getting good information from their hobby shops as well. Goes to show ya that even people we think are specialists are not always that. At my recent visit to my track there were the 4 packs of the DE Racing Stadium Truck wheels for sale on the wall so I asked if they had any of the 4 packs of the Team Associated DE Racing 4wd Buggy front or rear wheels because I am in need of both and was told back that they do not sell the buggy wheels in 4 packs because they use different sizes front and rear. This is not true. DE Racing went to 4 packs for their front and rear wheels sometime ago. I have bought several online already all the way back to last winter. This guy is and has been behind the counter at my local track for years too. Just goes to tell you do your own research and go right to the source.
I called out the lack of specific wheel information in my EB410.1 review. I know Tekno watched it, but unfortunately it sounds like they did not update the manual in the EB410.2. Hopefully they read this thread and correct it going forward.

The specific wheels Required was not in the Tekno EB410 Instruction manual, & I purchased the kit from a LHS; this all could have been avoided if I just ordered from amain like usual, or if the kit included the required wheels. Its like buying a flashlight that uses A123 batteries (not included), or a lighter without fluid; things can be hassle free. I think the kids & I are going to stick to RC racing kits with wheels from now on.

I am speaking for myself but I personally like to research what I am getting into, especially if its new to me. I don't understand why buying it from your LHS makes a difference as opposed to buying it from Amain? I would think it's safe to assume that both you and your LHS has access to the internet, as most businesses do these days. They could simply have been more informative/helpful when you were making your purchase instead of just focusing on making a "sale".

Update; installed +1 hubs, Took it out to the carpet track Sunday for a really good shakedown; its pretty much dialed out the box, kit setup, lowered & adjusted for carpet; it’s dialed; really happy with it, so far so good!
