Amazing super close racing! Very small gaps between the top guys, on a very difficult track.
I'd like to focus on the fact that close racing is still be possible even in 3.5 mod.
Watching the finals was like some WC of the brushed era, but in fast forward! 😄

I noticed that in A-final #2 Mod @ the worlds there was missing a driver at the start. I think it was the winner from final #1, Yoshiyasu Yanagisawa. Anyone knows why he didnt show up in final #2?

Something along the lines of having a battery that was 4.205 volts at tech and IFMAR would not allow him to run off the voltage. It was the second time it happened and those are their rules. Kind of a crappy rule imo, my i charger seems to never charge to exactly the same thing each time.

What do you run when you race modified though? The specs claim only good down to 10.5bl. Will there be a 3.5 or 4.0 version?

I believe the other, older versions of esc's have been discontinued or will be shortly.

Gotta draw the line somewhere... the lesson here is "check it yourself, first."

is there a charger that charges consistently? i run 2s and 1s batteries, the settings i have will charge both batteries differently. i wouldnt mind selling icharger for a charger that will charge 2s to 8.4 and 1s to 4.2

*edit*: dont know if i'm going to get a response in the R1 thread. what rollout are yall running w/ the V21 13.5?

Mine's consistent. Save a battery file for each battery. Then use bank 1 for the 1s, and 2 for the 2s. Adjust final output to match what the mulitmeter wants to see.

For example, I charge to 4.28. By the time I get to tech, the battery is down to 4.25. Add in a little resistance from dirty meter leads, the tech inspector sees 4.21v. Our limit is 4.22.

All of the tech tools are available at the tech table during practice, where I race. You can compare your battery voltage to the meters reading then. No idea if IFMAR does anything like that. 4.205 is an unacceptable ruling. That racer should have not been DQ'd until 4.21. Should have let him race. (unless this is just the rumor, and he accidentally was caught with 4.25. Which seems more likely)

Although it was the 2nd time? If you got one free pass, then you have nothing to complain about......

Boosted modified and nobody was close to dumping from what I've heard.. so i seriously doubt over charging was a advantage the way it is in blinky spec classes

Honestly everyone else got through tech without any issues. Therefore I’m not sure that the voltage was measured that close and if it was indeed that .05 Volt got him DQ. He should have checked the voltage to be compliant. It the worlds and not a club race.

And it's tech you have to pass and I would imagine that the BRCA will have their test equipment tested and approved by an outside specialist given this was a Worlds event
