Tekno EB410.2 Thread

2 Pole speed controls are common for 1/10th scale vehicles. Reedy/Maclan/Hobby Wing are super common. Most with the eb410.2 buggy run 2 Pole for 13.5 spec racing. Or Mod with a 6.5/7.5 is probably the most common. With the Truggy et410, you can go either way. They 4 pole speed controls are big, but can run 2 pole or 4 pole motors. They handle the power and heat well. Tekin or HobbyWing are the most common. I would say most et410 people run the same as the eb410.2, 2 pole motors with 6.5/7.5 turns. Lots do run the 4 pole motors, as they have more power. I like the HobbyWing 3100kv. Lots run the 4600 Tekin. 540 can are better, shorter. I find the 4 pole motors can more easily handle heat. Power difference? I have never seen a real comparison chart. In my experience my Hobbywing 3100kv 4 pole 540 can has more bottom end/mid end power than a Maclan V2 7.5 turn 2 pole motor, but about the same top end speed. Maybe compare that Maclan 7.5 v2 to others 6.5 turn motors, as that V2 is a animal. I only run at 90% power, in a indoor track that is not large, with my Hobby Wing 3100kv. Think almost all, run 2s batteries. A et410, 2s battery, Tekin rx8 gen 2 or gen 3, with a Tekin 4600, is pure nuts. Can not imagine any more power can be put down in one. I was doing 360 in the air backwards off the jumps. But there are lots of opinions out there.

Thank you very much for your responses. Given that the et410 has bigger gears, it would probably handle 4 pole motors better? maybe the ET is more suited to my needs. Also, running a 3100kv on 2s, is that enough top end speed? for a 3s setup would kv rating would you recommend?
Also I notice that most of the 2 pole motors have an open-can design? Why is that? 4 poles look completely sealed? I ask this because my area has a lot of dust/dirt and I fear 2 pole motors might get ruined by that..

The ET works fine for 4 pole motors, with 32p gearing. I have ran that Pro 4 motor w/ a Tekin RSX ESC, since they came out. Works great. I can't imagine needing more power. Also, the bigger tire footprint of the truggy vs the buggy makes it ideal for the bigger motor, in my opinion. My EB410.2 is a 2-pole 13.5 spec car. Both run on 2s. Keep in mind, these are racing platforms and aren't the best option for bashing (although it can be done). And another thing to keep in mind is there is not a lot of space for electronics on these machine. With my 4-pole motor and RSX, there isn't a lot of room for electronics. So if you were to try to fit an even bigger ESC in there (like a RX8 or somthing) it gets REALLY TIGHT.

Has anyone run the plastic diff gears with a mod? I travel a lot so I usually bring my buggy's with me and I find 13.5 to be the most popular class. However, when I can run mod I always swap one in. Being new to the Tekno I was not sure how strong they are? I run plastic gears in my Xray XT4 with a 6.5 no problem and I did run plastic gears in my B74 with an 8.0 as well without issue. Thanks in advance

Let me rephrase the question...Has ANYBODY broken plastic diff gears before in a Tekno EB OR ET410 vehicle regardless of motor?
I suspect the plastic gears in my EB410.2 with a 8.0 mod is going to be just fine. Thanks again.

I run the 4 pole motors with the 32 pitch gears, in my et410 and et410/SCT. And they pretty much are the same thing at a eb410.2, with bigger tires. Never stripped a gear. I run high bite clay, so I suspect carpet may be different.

I smoked the plastic diff gears in my EB410 when I tried them. Running a 13.5 spec motor on loose dirt.

Yes many people have broken diff gears even with 13.5t. They may hold up fine initially but don't be suprised if they break, it's a risk you have to be willing to take.
