Okay I got some more driving time at the track and the jumping is much improved. I did however have that same screw on the caster block fall out again but otherwise it held up well. Since I'm a pretty terrible driver, I do land jumps wrong and crash sometimes, I think I'm a pretty fair judge of durability. I'm pretty pleased with the truck so far. I prefer driving this over my Slash 4x4 most of the time.

this screw that keeps falling out, maybe the part it is threading into is worn. One trick we did / do is to take either some cotton from a cotton ball or even a piece of tissue, wrap it around the screw part that goes into the item in question and maybe add a drop of CA glue or shoe goo and thread it back into the part, this usually worked well enough to give the screw something to bite into.

Yea, I put some glue in the hole and screwed it back in for now. They have an aluminum upgrade so I'll order those then I can loctite the screws.

I haven't had a chance to take the truck out in a while but I'm hoping to get it out at least one more time before the weather gets too cold.

I enjoy reading your reports, even more so since it's about a vehicle that isn't as well known and I'm interested in what kind of performance you can get out of it.

Thanks, I couldn't find much info on these so I figured I'd try to get it out there. I'm still learning alot as far as tuning goes and my driving skill isn't anything to write home about but I enjoy it. I've been having a hard time getting out to the track cause I have a 3 month old baby at home and he's the priority right now. But I'm glad someone likes to read these.

Okay fellas, I got to take it out today for a little bit. I stuck some proline calibers on it and it was hooked up, I could hardly believe the difference. I thought it handled decent with the stock tires well I was wrong I actually felt like a half competent driver with the new tires! I ran a full 4000 mAh pack through it, about a half hour runtime I'd say. And I gotta admit once I got the initial few weak spot dealt with this thing is pretty tough. I had some pretty cringe worthy cartwheels but nothing broke. Also I think I figured out the problem I was having with the jumping. Before it would nose dive every single time and I think it was the way I was giving it throttle on the approach. Originally I was gunning it going up to the jump but today I figured out that if I let off the throttle a foot or two before the jump and then punch it as soon as my front tires hit the base of the jump it flies super level and it's much easier to correct in the air.

I also had my Slash out there and I gotta say after getting the SCT10 figured out the Slash is just plain aggravating to drive. I think the Slash will be relegated to strictly bashing from here on out.

that jump throttle control you were doing sounds like what we did with the Tekno SCT410.3 on a particular jump to get it to fly level.

It's been a while since a posted an update on this so here goes. I have a lot more track time with this truck since last time I posted. I've had it out to the backyard track that I run on probably 10 or 12 times this year and it's dialed. I'm running proline calibers all the way around and they give the perfect amount of grip for my driving style. Bite hard on the straights and keep the rear end under control on the turns but still let loose when I need them to. Also I played around some with the rear springs and oil and I have corrected the nose dive issue. Turns out it was in fact the rear end bottoming out on the face of the jumps. It flies pretty flat now but it's not very responsive to throttle input in the air. My skills as a driver are improving enough that I can tool the truck around to the track pretty well. I only own one other car that I can get around the track faster than this one, an Xray XB4. But this is easily my favorite to drive.

Also on the durability front, I've done alot of cartwheels and crashed quite a few times and nothing has broken yet. Aside from the issues I mentioned at the beginning of this thread which have since been resolved I have had no problems with this truck whatsoever. I even really like the Tacon radio that comes with the truck, it's small light and has no antenna on the transmitter and a super short one on the receiver. Never had a glitch even with 15 or so other radios going at the same time.
