What's up with the offset carb? I stripped a head screw out and wanted to use another Mito crankcase, but no dice. Anyone make a small heli-coil?

Tap the M3 hole to M3.5 and use a M3.5 bolt

Probably you need to drill up the head as well due a bigger head (or grind down the head of the 3.5mm screw)

Regarging the offset carb, no way to put that crank into a crank case with a center carb. The crank timing will be too far off because the crank timing is made by the crank shaft in combination with the crank case.

That was how I found out about the offset carb not being compatible with the centered carb. It started and ran,,, but backwards!! lol. Drilled and tapped all the holes and all is well. Thanks for the help!

Yes it does. The 1/10 novarossi one is better as it has an offset air filter boot to give a bit more clearance from the head.

Hey guys, what glow plugs should I use for a Flash .12? Picking it up in a Natrix 748wc I got for cheap. Outdoor asphalt... 70-90F right now... 16% fuel.

Is anyone encountering problems with their carbs coming lose to the point of falling off on their Mitos? I've had 2 brand new .12 Mitos that no matter how tight I have the carb, it still comes out. I've tightened the screw so much at one point that I snapped the head off of it. I'm also not the only one at my track having the same problem. There are about 6 to 10 people that have had the same issue in the last year. We have a very healthy nitro touring class and this carb issue is affecting a lot of the racers who are running NovaRossi Mito .12. The track is fairly smooth and I tend to run fairly clean so no hard crashes (if any) would be the cause. Anyone else having the same problem?

I too would love to get a consensus on this, as I just picked up a Serpent 750 after an almost 20 year hiatus from racing, and would love to run a Novarossi again like the good old days. Is it best to run the “latest and greatest”, or is the Mito WC (Ceramic) still good enough to hold its own?

Hmm, hard to believe that there’s really no info on the 14 (nor is it on the “recommended” list for any of their current on road engines), but based on the numbers and because it is a “straighter” pipe compared to the curvier looking 41015-17 models, I’d venture to say that it’s the shortest of the 4, and thus, would highly favor top end over acceleration compared to the 16 - especially considering that the 16 is the happy balance between the 15 and 17.
