.
if you ran the fan off of the battery being discharged.. the fan will slow as the resisters need the fan at its BEST.

just an fyi..

yes looks nice! Great work, my question is what did you mount the resistors on? Also, what wire did you use to solder the resistors together?

Thank you!

I used a copper wire and after soldering them they stay pretty solid then I used 4 aluminum top deck stand offs that I had laying around.

Well this is what I came up with. Hooked it up to an old video card cooler.

that was a creative cooling solution. if you guys do a search on ebay for LED heat sink you will find inexpensive heat sinks with ratings for the heat they can dissipate. maybe it will make life easier.

I got this one for like $5 it’s 12volts keeps the resistors under 175 degrees

Isnt discharging battery’s a hold over from the old days. I thought newer lipo’s dont have the problem with having a memory like the old cells. The only time I ever discharged lipos was to bring them down to the proper levels for storage.

is not about memory is about lowering the internal resistance

My resistors came in today! Just need to figure out something to mount them on, fans and heatsinks are in order also. I will take pictures of the build and try to make it clean as possiable!

Was thinking of the wiring and probably going to straight wire the fans direct to the power supply. Main reason is because when the battery gets lower and lower voltage the fans spin slower, any input on this?

Thanks!

it all depends on the fan , i got myself a 12volt fan so i can have it cooling even after the discharge is over
