But at $150 ,you can’t have it all. At dnc he couldn’t do the 3/3 rhythm when the track was beat up. Still he was at the top

shows that it isn't the engine...its the driver that wins races.

So I decided to roll the dice on this 3 port engine.
https://www.amainhobbies.com/sh-engi...-p3xbg/p976434

I decided to start the break in process this past Sunday. I looked at the insides.
13mm crank, silicone filled, 1 slug, some grinding. Standard bearings.
The sleeve also has some minor work. Nothing to jump up about.

But so far I must admit, I am very impressed. I have my own break in process, pretty much what Gord Tessmann does. I just use a quart of VP golden break in fuel for the initial 10 tanks.
The motor never missed a beat. I look forward to getting the car on a track with 30% race fuel. I will follow up once I have more time on it.
I predict it should be a good small track club motor.

Just an update from my last post.
I have spent 2 weekends at the track with the P3XB. I have tried a 2169 FX pipe, and a 2013 Werks pipe. The 2013 for me is the better of the 2. I also had better tuning using an OS P4, P3 to me was to hot. These are my findings.

1. The motor is very tight. It will be every bit of 1 gallon before really run in.
2. Holds a good tune, idles great.
3. Mileage nothing to brag about. 8-8.5 minutes at the current time. I feel it will get better as the motor fully breaks in.
4. The engine does leave more to be desired on the track. To me it doesnt have enough immediate bottom, nor does it have good legs for a big track. But it will get you around the track.
5. This would be a good small track club motor. Or good for someone just getting started.

I am not disappointed in the purchase. This was 169.99 engine.

i have the same engine, and mine was pretty weak on an orion 2149 pipe. Switched to a Nova 9901 and it immediately woke up and had decent power

Please tell me what pipes would be comparable to what you said woke yours up... I'm considering a nitro buggy for my son for the next season, so have started researching engines and such... the exhaust options leave me feeling kinda overwhelmed because I don't know what the number mean, and a lot of them dont give much description...so Ive yet to sort out what pipe does what...
I'm debating the lottle orange .12 for a GT2 im restoring, or jist another 12TG O.S. engine... for 8th scale I'm debating between a cheap engine to do some of our learning on, or just go for a Samurai or Flashpoint , those seem like good midrange options.
this rabbit hole got deep quickly...lol
