I have seen some carbon towers break. I run the carbon towers and they have been working well. I also run a bead of super glue on the edges of them similar to what I do in my 1/10 offroad vehicles and my old onroad days. I think it helps the parts durability.

I'm using carbon fiber towers just for aesthetics

About mine Mini, yesterday I've been in a new racetrack, it was an 1/10 scale moquette outdoor track, so big and so fun; unfortunately my esc and motor where always beyond 80°c after few minutes of driving
do you have any suggestion about how to keep them cool? (especially the motor)Also, about the servo, does anybody mounted an alternative and better performance servo? I'm currently using the Batan D135f but it seems too slow for me (and maybe not enough strong.
Thanks!

As far as servos go, I wanted something better than stock, but also something that would fit the stock mount. I found a good deal on a KO Propo RSX-12 from someone who works at KO. It’s been great so far, but I don’t think it’s something I’d recommend to people at full retail. It’s definitely got more torque than the D115, but I’m not seeing drastic differences in speed. Nothing like the Savox SH-1350 I had in the M8 DB.
If you wanna keep it reasonably priced I’d look at the SH-1350 or SH-1250 and the Align DS-530M which can be had for about $50. You’ll have to drill some new holes, or do what the LC factory drivers have done for years and use the front mount and servo tape to mount it. If you want an option that fits the stock mount a lot of guys go with the Spektrum A5040. I actually really think the Batan’s are great for the money.

Thank you, so do you think that KoPropo is not so better than the Batan 135?
I've found that: xpert-rc MI-3301-HV(M2)
It looks amazing but is so expensive
About the mounting tecnique, is it safe to use one standard support and the double tape?
Thanks.
P.s. I'm running a Mamba 2646 as motor but I'm looking to something with more torque; I see you're using a tenshock; do you recommend it?

Well, I have not used the 135f so I can’t commmet on that. I went straight from the 115 to the KO. For me, the real test will be longevity. If the KO can take some abuse, it will be a solid choice. Having 115 oz.-inch of torque is nice. But yes, at full retail the Xpert is probably the way to go if you want something to fit the stock mount and are comfortable spending $100 on a servo for a $200 car.
From everything I’ve heard from those that use the single mount and servo tape method, it works quite well, and should pose no issues if you aren’t skatepark bashing and abusing the car.
The Tenshock has been great. It’s a little smoother than the stock motor on the low end of the throttle and I’m finding it has greater range throughout its powerband. I don’t feel the sense that there’s “On, medium and high” in regards to throttle response. I have more control. And when I punch it from a mid throttle position, it REALLY takes off. Plenty of torque too. The stock truggy motor is great though, and overall I find the stock electronics (minus the ESC) great. Couldn’t compare to the Castle as I’ve never used one.

For me I feel the carbon towers provide a bit better direct feel on carpet. But in general other than the fact they don't flex like the stock steel on impacts and seem to be as much or a bit better durability wise, I have left them. If you like to hit stuff, go with steel ones.
As for servos we get the D135Fs here with our vehicles, the metal gear version of the stock servo I believe that is. We have had some failures, some bad out of the box, but for the money they work well enough. The Spektrum ones have been garbage, the 3 guys I know who got them they all failed and cost more than getting a D135F.

That's a great tip on the servo mounting. I've used Solar 655 servos as well as the Batan. They've both worked well enough for me but I'm not putting mine through the paces like club racers will. They work on my monster truck with no problem. Hitec 225MG works on the Mini 8ight but it's too tall to mount in the LC Racing rigs without mods.
Thanks for the info on the carbon fiber towers. I don't see a reason why I would need the upgrade. My towers have held up fine and I don't have a real reason to lighten up.

Anyone know if you can just buy the center notched pin that goes in the new 4 gear diff? One of the two in my rear diff snapped. My manual that came with the Truggy still shows the old 2 gear diff exploded view drawing with part numbers instead of the new 4 gear version.

thanks to everybody.
Do you know with which thickness comes the springs from the 2015/2016 kit? Because I'd like to have softer suspension but I don't know if the 1.2mm front and 1.1mm rear springs that are sold as option are different or the stock ones.
Thanks
