Looks good. I'll try it when I get some free time.

The Dromida buggy is great with the Carisma sensored motor! It's very powerful and cool running, and it fits in the chassis easily. The buggy's maximum speed is 41MPH with 70mm tires, 16t pinion, stock 45t spur, and 2s.

That's the same 2s top speed as the 7200kv 2435 motor I used before (with 12t pinion) but much lower temperatures and better low-speed torque and acceleration. It's just perfect for bashing -- super quick but easy to control if you're paying attention.

I haven't had a chance to try it on 3s because it's currently running a spare 2s-only ESC after my 3s ESC burned. I expect wheelies at any speed and around 50MPH maximum on 3s with this gearing. Not sure if I want to try a bigger pinion... :-)

Went ahead and picked up a pack of those hardened hinge pins from grainger. With two dromidas myself and two of my kids each have one, were goung through hinge pins left and right. I can usually straighten them out but rarely get them perfect, just depends on how bad the bend. I cant bend these new ones with my mits alone where as the stock ones i can. Just have to shave off 2mm with the 38dt52. I believe the other part number you listed was a little too short. Only down side is you have to buy 100 for $15 and like $14 shipping! So I've got these pins for life probably!!! Lol

If you, igottabeme, or the dromida speedster (forgot his name but he knows who im talkin about) want some. Kick me a like 3 or 4 bucks for shipping through PayPal or something and I'll send u guys a stack. Just throwing that out there...

I replaced the stock servo in my Dromida 4.18BL with a Savox SH-0262MG. It's a direct replacement for those running brushless systems and the dead band is night an day! Just another servo option for folks looking for an easy upgrade. My local Hobby Town had them.

got my SC4.18 out of storage, ...it was bought for my son about 5 or 6 years ago as a gift, he destroyed it (he was only about 7 or 8 at the time). He's since moved on to competitive racing and running a few on-road cars (he also drives quite well now).

I took the destroyed SC4.18 out of storage, took the entire car apart and cleaned each and every part w/ simple green then rinsed. Several parts were missing which I've since replaced. The stock shocks need some sanding hence, I am in the process of smoothing out the inside shock shafts as well as the piston edges (they were really rough and the shock bodies were all scraped up on the inside).

here is where I am currently at w/ my build:

I have a brushless motor/esc combo coming,

will be upgrading the servo and including a micro receiver as well.
Otherwise keeping this stock in terms of chassis and everything mechanical. At least for now.

I have a few questions, but will post if they are not answered in the previous posts on this thread (I still haven't read everything here).

The stock shocks suck!
I sanded the insides, -they are smoother and acceptable, but not great. Yet the oil leaks out of the bottoms as the bottom shock cap does not seal correctly, -I glued per suggestion on the first page of this thread. That makes the shocks useable. But these are horrible shocks, ...just because they are plastic they don't need to be this bad.

I may look for a replacement in similar size. I can't stand how awful the stock ones are.

I have no body, and am having a tough time finding a clear Dromida body, let alone a painted one. Everything for this car is discontinued and no one seems to have parts.
However I did find a Team Associated SC18 body, -looks like it will fit!

Body painted and it fits well. I dont mind the tires sticking out a bit, it gives it a tougher look.

Still waiting for my steering servo to arrive, in the meantime I started wiring up some lighting.
