Yes, it may be overkill but wouldn't mind getting some extra run time on practice days lol. I will be using their 5400mah pack for race days.
dude run the 7400 for race as well, I WOULDN'T GO LOWER THAN 6000, think about it, with all the new LIHV reedy zapper 160$$$ LIHV lipos , there out there, I'm running the 7400MAH....Danny runs em, good Enuff for him, PERFECT FOR ME!!!!

You have a point.

I'm going to keep it above 6000mah but isn't the LiHV "advantage" the slightly higher voltage? mah is just related to run time? so even a higher mah pack still wouldn't have the punch of a LiHV pack?

it is, but have you seen a LIHV below 6000plus mah? there out there, but no one going to buy them, when there at 6400 for $20 more? and the MAH CLIMBING...

I have purchased over 10 to 12 packs from SMC and i always have to cut off the connector and solder my own connectors since i use xt150. Just seems like a waste of connectors since i cut off whatever connector i chose when purchasing. Just curious if possible to get xt150 on them since im planning on getting a couple 5400mah 6s packs.

Has anyone run the 3700mah 4s? Looking for run time mainly. Will it run a 10 minute main?

Depending on layout, motor and overall vehicle weight it should make a 10 min main (I did it with the older SMC 3600 Mah battery). Running 1/8 buggy indoors my prefered battery is the 4500 Mah SMC battery (sized like a 3s battery) the 4500 Mah batteries seem to have a much better life span while still being a light weight 4s battery. If you are looking for the lightest weight then the 3700 MAh is your ticket.

Looking to run the SMC 4500mah 14.8v in an AE RC8B3.1e, Tekin Gen3 Tekin 1900kv motor, 46t spur on to 15/16t pinion.

Outdoor large track. do the 4500mah cut it for 10 minute races? I like the idea of not having extra weight in the car and having the CG low as possible if its enough.

EDIT: Just got news from the Australian SMC stockist that the 4500mah is being replaced by a 5000mah in the same size. I think 5000mah should be spot on.

Yeah, the 5000mah are nice.. they sold some a few months ago for testing and I've been running them in buggy and truggy making 10-minute mains.
ClayRacer and Fate0n3 like this.
