Just got my MIP shock kit!! Woohoo! Thing is I just rebuilt my shocks about two weeks ago and haven't run my car since. Anyone ever build a shock backwards? Think I'll be able to install the kit without dumping the oil and work from the bottom up.

Default MIP Shock KIt

Thinking about purchasing the MIP shock kit, but would like some feedback from the guys who have ran them? Did it help in keeping the air from building up in the shocks?

Thanks for the feedback.

It would be much more trouble than it is worth if you don't have any extra oil I'd just run it with the stock seals until it's time for a rebuild. You'll just have to make sure you bleed them if you notice the car feeling sluggish.

Thanks for the feedback.
The MIP kit felt fantastic over the weekend. After five packs I felt no excess air. It even seemed to make the car settle a little quicker after bigger jumps. Though maybe that's just the springs breaking in.

I have the oil I was just being cheap/lazy. Maybe I'll give it a whirl just to see how it goes.

It couldn't hurt. Afterall you won't know the difference unless you try the stock setup first

That is a nice touch to drop the ride height.

What are people running to protect the caps and tower up front for carpet? I made one out of lexan; but I know T Bone makes some but have not seen them in person; though I do run their bumper on my SCT410.

I also know a few were 3D printing them as well.

Curious to see what everyone is doing.

Heres a picture of the forwatd shock mod using the lower shock tower holes to utilize ball studs. I think i used 10mm ball studs

Any using the exotek aluminum hubs have a problem with bearings fitting loose? Mine don't hold the bearing and there is a lot of play back and forth. It's the same on both sides

I'm currently not running that forward shock setup I wasn't happy how the dog bones align with the outdrives it didn't insert far enough in so I managed to break to outdrives in the process I put all the shims in the rear of the arms to try to push everything forward to correct the angle but still it's not good enough

I haven't noticed that with my hubs. The bearings do slide in pretty easy but I didn't feel any play once they were in there. I have another pair that are new, I'll pop some bearings in them later today and see if I notice anything off. Could be yours just had a machining accident. I've had issues like that before with Exotek parts though not often.

Are you using the top hole on the Exotek hubs? I was going to setup one rear end with the front shocks and another with the standard setup so I can swap them at the track and see what's what.

Using the bottom hole for lower ride height. Problem is wheels rub a bit on the ballcups

I think you gotta run it in the top hole on them for now until someone makes a longer shaft. People were having issues with that even in the rear-shock setup. If the RPRC towers come back in stock that might be something to look at for your ride-height issues
