It does not need another sensor wire for motor temp. Your motor needs
an internal thermistor inside to show the motor temp . You need to be sure that your motor has that option by default . The reedy M3 Series of motor does not have an internal thermistor and that's a good thing because a lot of motor gives you a bad reading of the motor temperature and because of that bad reading you ESC goes into motor shutdown for no good reason's . That's why I always Adjust all my Sanwa ESC settings# mode 3 (Thermal Protection) Higher than default . The default mode of 1 is too low for my taste , and my original testing with some motors that had a Temp sensor did not give a good reading
so I adjusted this setting to 3 instead of the original 1
120 degrees Celsius for the ESC / and 100 degrees Celsius for the motor .
my motor never goes there but it gives me enough temperature headroom so that the ESC never goes into motor shutdown ..

If you look into the SV gen 3 manual this is a direct copy of what the manual says :

MODE 3 (Thermal Protection)ESC and motor over-heat protection. Requires motor be equipped with temperature sensor.

and about soldering the ESC I have really good success with Miniatronics Rosin Soldering Flux Paste (bought at Amain hobbies) . It made a world of a difference when soldering this ESC , for sure you will need a good soldering iron of 60 watts or more with a good tip . I also used Heat shrink between each post of exposed wire , This really help prevent shorts if your soldering goes bad . Overall for now everything is working really well but I need to do more testing of this ESC in my B64D with a Muchmore Racing FLETA ZX 6.0T (this motor does not have an internal temp sensor ). So far I really like this motor because it does not overheat in my car . It Stays below 135 degrees F after a race and practice time with no fan.

Thanks and good luck with your B64D. I am also setting one up for indoor clay track.

I went ahead and ordered the flux paste and also picked up another Hakko FX888D wand as well. Still upset about the esc experience.

Yeah bit of a bummer Hope you get things sorted its a pretty neat esc

I was just messing around with all the code 10 /R mode stuff along with data logging. Really liking it so far. Only problem I found is when you export the data to .csv to view on the computer the values seem way off and don't match what you see on the remote bit odd

I understand completely
for the price that these things cost , for sure you don't want to fry them , it almost happen to me but like I said because I used the colored heat shrink that came with the Esc (to cover the wire and the post) and also like others have mention I don't use the wires that comes in the box , I always use Deans or Tekin 12 gauge or the reedy 13 gauge wire , the only thing with the reedy is it's only offered in black so be sure to color code your wire. Other than that this ESC is the coolest running Sanwa ESC yet
it runs super cool (I could use it without the fan) but I prefer not to, maybe I will try it without the fan some day but since I run mod motors inside a 4wd buggy I prefer to keep it.
Cheers

I have noticed he runs cool as well ! Code 10 / R-mode is still my fav part of the Mt-44 vortex combo

I was told the unit is fine and my soldering caused the problem, so I will be getting it back. Sanwa technicians went ahead and soldered the wires on for me, so it should be good to go when it gets back, awesome! I really want to try this in my B5M with a mod motor.

I bought it through bengalcat2013, easily the lowest price for these, but the shipping is slow. They sent it to the factory for repairs. I will have a friend help me put it together this time.

Does anyone have the SUPER VORTEX GEN2 PRO (not the original or the GEN2 - the GEN2 PRO)?

I've downloaded the new firmware, that lets me upgrade to the PRO software - now it has new parameters to tune.

But no english manual on the website, for the ESC or the SSL programming more.

Anyone got one and fancy scanning and posting the manuals?

These things are a pain to figure out. I bought the program box and it wants me to download on a disc to be able to use it, what a royal pia. Why do they have to be so difficult. So how do I actually get the program box to work????

This is way to new
but for now I am eager to see what will be the price
and difference with the current SV Gen2 and the GEN2 pro

The current rating seems to be UP compared to the old one (not pro)

Achievement for 130% Output compare with Gen2 (previous model) due to Reviewing Design for Circuit Diagram

Until someone brave enough makes the plunge for one of these ..
the one I have The gen2 seems to be discontinued and they will only be selling the GEN2 pro from now on ..

Have you seen this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izyn...ature=youtu.be

If I could afford a ticket to japan and go to sanwa headquarters
I would pay the JUN guy a bottle of SAKE

It's not that hard you only have to take your time and have a micro sd card
to use your program box .. I was lucky enough that my SV2 gen 2 already had the firmware that supported the program box . Maybe the firmware inside yours is too old ??
