Sanwa Pro Gen 2 Vortex

Got this on order, and also ordered the program box. I will be comparing it to the industry std RSX. I expect a lot out of it, using it with my M12S radio.

With the M12S (or the other Sanwa SSL Tx), you don't/won't need the program box - at all.

Remember to plug the ESC into the battery slot in the Rx - not channel 2. The default settings will be shown in the manual. The top four settings are set via the button on the switch, but for racing the defaults are fine. Just go straight into the Tx and start setting it up. First thing is to go into the bind menu and rebind with Throttle in SSR mode. Good luck.

That’s if you are using a 472 or 482 receiver. It’s the batt/ssl plug. I haven’t really messed with mine much yet, only ran it once so far. I like it though.

Both 472 and 482. Darn, I already bought the box. Thanks for the plug in info on channel 2.

Anyone use the "Ram" induction?

buggybattle 12-24-2017 12:59 PM

Thinking of getting this esc myself along with a mt44. Please post your impressions of everything:)

It might be awhile as it is on a slow boat from China! I got a great deal, so figured I could wait, besides my RSX has arrived, so I am good for awhile till I get my next wheeler.

Got it. I did find a few people talking about them and nothing but good things. Pretty sure I will get the gen 2 Pro along with a ssl / SSR Servo. So many tuning options and telemetry haha

platgof 12-25-2017 05:54 AM

Yeah, it will be fun to watch the telemetry in action, especially RPM.

I hardly take my eyes off the car. Data logging is one thing, but real time telemetry is kinda useless.

True true. Could be good for checking straight away speed during practice. I been out of the rc game for like 7 years so I have no clue lol

SMcD 12-26-2017 08:32 AM

For speeds in MPH or KPH, you need the Rx461 or Rx462 combined with external sensors!

SSL setups only give RPM (which matters in racing), not ground speed.

Unless someone can guide me to a way to show ground speed in SSL telemetry setups...???

platgof 12-26-2017 05:07 PM

I was thinking that running telemetry might slow the radios signal time, so it will probably not be used. During practice it could be fun to play with.

From what I saw in the manual the MT44 gives you speed based off a math calculation. Speed or RPM is fine but I recall the MT44 doing both...

Also the RX-482 should have everything you need and comes with the MT44

I don't think it does. Did you happen to read that somewhere ? I will be data logging when I start racing again for sure. My hope is the data will help me get up to speed quicker. If it turns out to be useless then oh well lol :ha:
