Helicopter Servo For Nitro Buggy?
#1
This may seem like a silly question, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I was looking at this particular servo
xpert-rc GS-6401-HV(R2)
And while the specs are fantastic, the manufacturer states that it's for helicopter use. Can it still be used for a surface application, or are there compatibility issues with receivers or power consumption I should know about? Thanks in advance

It's an interesting choice considering xpert have excellent servos designed for car application. Whilst I'm sure the heli servo would work it may not have the same feeling that a car servo may have nor the durability? Just seems a bit strange to me to choose a helicopter servo over a car servo that's all.

Just a word of caution. Some heli servos won't work unless they are plugged into a gyro.
Here is a thread where someone found out their heli servo would not work in a car. That was an MKS servo though. IDK if Xpert does anything like that.

Regarding the specs I am sure it will work, The operating frequency goes from 50Hz going up. 50Hz is the normal PPM frequency.
That other topic was about a special tail servo that only works with a compatable gyro and regarding those specs it will probably work with the Sanwa superspeed mode.
If you want an affordable brushless servo, I did found this:
HJ HDKJ D3020 Full Metal 20KG Torque 180° Rotating Brushless Motor Kit - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
