Ok, so Im getting some serious play in the front wheel of my F103 using 3Racing axles and Avid bearings. Is there a cure for this or do I just roll with it?

What are the best front and rear wings? I'm new to F1 and just picked up a used CRC WTF1 FC16. I bought and mounted Protoform front and rear wings. Chose Protoform because I liked the matte finish. Unfortunately, after a hard hit into the wall, the rear wing cracked. I want to replace it but I'm hesitant to buy the Protoform since it seems like it might be a bit brittle. I know, I could drive better, too. Before I purchase another, I figured I'd ask the experts!!!

Thanks in advance!

Here is a visual comparison between the montech (white), protoform (black), and stock xray (orange). I haven't hit the track with them yet, but the montech is going to be on the car when I do. It also has additional aero elements to increase downforce. The outer edge of the wings are all lined up at the same point, so you can see the width difference.

Do you have a pic of the bottom of the Mon-tech wing?

I can take some when I get home, but here's one I found via Google.

The material feels pretty durable, took about 1000 bends to remove from the mold tree... there is a good amount of flex, but i don't think the wing will droop like others.

LOL the notion that these front wings can create noticeable downforce is ludicrous. Three of us running with either no wing or half a wing did the same lap times as we did with intact wings on our smallish indoor carpet track. Maybe its different for larger or outdoor tracks.

There are aero benefits at smaller scales than 1/10, so aero can play a role. I'm not going to get into the debate much but will state a simple opinion on the matter... as you scale down the effect of downforce from aero is reduced. Aero effect in the form of drag used for stability is greater than downforce. But to say there is no aero effect, is not true. I have experimented at great lengths in 1/28 scale, and come to the conclusion that aero can be a performance tool to tune the car. Not as effective as mass distribution, but it is there.

As seen in the second picture that is in my later part, there are elements that can be attached to the wing, which is what I was referring to when I said aero elements. I was not mentioning that they increase downforce, simply that they are 'aero elements' in the scale sense.

Why would xray include 2 variant lexan wings with their kit, and montech give variable element angles if there were no aero benefits at this scale? What about a pan body that is for classes smaller than 1/10? There definitely are aero benefits.

Companies offer items based on what sells, not always what works. Just because they tell you it makes a difference, doesnt make it true unless you actually have a way to measure the claims scientifically. Its called a placebo.

All of the testing that I conducted were not done with store bought parts. Most aero devices were hand made, or adapted from other means.

I don't intend to use the aero elements that came with the wing, but will use aero elements on the wing that will give more front grip at reduced weight. I just need to check the rules to see what the limitations for front wing size is.

Again, whether you believe our don't believe aero plays a role... I know it does, and if we ever happen to meet on track, I would be happy to show you even if it is just placebo, as long as it makes me faster and more consistent on track, I will be happy.
