You can see it in this article.

Basically they have a planetary gear set between the drive shaft and in the pinion to add extra gear reduction at the axle. This is to reduce torque twist from the rear axle. It is actually a legitimate innovation...unlike their other patents.

I might finally buy a Traxxas product because of this truck. But first I will wait and see how they hold up in the hands of others. I already see several things that give me pause. For starters plastic 17mm wheel hexes? Really?? Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but that is a pretty basic thing these days for ~1/8 RCs, especially on 6S.

Here's to hoping they make a roller/kit without electronics....or I could just get a Yeti XL Kit....

Looks strangely like a Fab 9 Ford 9in with Chevy Chevelle mounts on it to me.
Except for the planetary gears from an auto trans being in the 3rd member, that is new, sort of. I hope there made of unbreaknium. Just saying.

Price to me is in the unanium range. That is full car money. I would still have it and the Losi if I could.

Truck looks pretty awesome. I'm surprised they went with a 2200kv motor though.

2200kv probably because the rear transmission has this planetary reduction. so they need a fast turning motor

Sorry for my ignorance...Is it possible to use my Futaba TX/RX on Traxxas RTR, such as this UDR? This would be my first Traxxas R/C if ever I get one.

this truck looks really cool, it is really tempting !!

i love real desert trucks, they look awesome

do you also think that it would look better with higher front arms ? ( which i understand that it is difficult to get on a 4x4 because of the transmission )

Of course!

You can use any transmitter on any RC as long as you use a compatible receiver.

That does look better. I didn't even notice it until you posted that edited photo. Thanks for ruining it!

Me too. With that much weight and a 2200kv on 6s that thing will make some heat.

That to me is the thing that nitro brings to the table, that rumble, and this is coming from someone who is pretty much an electric guy. (will be trying nitro again, glutten for punishment I guess lol)
Yeah I'd like to see them race too. I'll throw my sc8 in the mix and last man standing wins.

I agree...wait and see a side by side comparison it will be quite interesting if aftermarket companies will build a rear solid axle.

I think I'll go with trx.should be pretty durable most of their kits are. Plenty of aftermarket as well
