Interesting post from Jan today:
X1 update ! As you can see we tryed 5mm wider wishbones each side and find out it went very well. Xray was able to make it in time and bring it to the ETS track. If you need a set it would be averiable at the SMI tent. Also its in production now and will be averiable very soon for everyone. See you

Wow, that is almost too wide. lol

I actually like the Xtreme racing lower arm that is similar to the upper arm shown in the pic. The stock Xray lower arms have a lot of flex. If Fenix added a reinforcing rib on their 1.5mm wider lower arms, I'd be all over it. The Xtreme racing lower arm is stiff and more predictable in high traction.

No doubt. Definitely depends on what rules you're running. For instance ROAR is 213mm and USVTA F1 rules is 190mm

drove my 17 to win the C main at Snowbirds today. Probably one of the most enjoyable cars to drive now.

I recommend going with the Fenix Gear diff.

Does anyone know if the 2018 aluminum chassis is compatible with the 2017 model, and what parts would be needed if it is?

I am waiting for a used F1 to arrive, and want to figure out tuning options for black carpet.

Congrats on your win. I am looking forward to getting mine on track when it arrives.

I'm also considering upgrading a '17 with an Al chassis that has better clearance and the bottom mounted links. Worth it or no?

All of my testing I've found a 2mm carbon chassis works better then a 2mm alum chassis

I ended up ordering the Fenix slim chassis conversion for my '17. It was only $100 and has the raised links. There was no other feature I cared about on the '18 aside from the raised links.

Thanks. I will look into that once i get settled in the car. The budget is limited, so need to try to get her up to speed efficiently.
