James Racing Tires
#157
Hi, I'm looking to make a changed in my tire department and are curios about James racing tires.
What is a compareable tire for:
PL suppressor?
PL lockdown?
PL fugetive?
PL blockade?
PL switchblade?
What tire is good for rainy conditions?
Do they have the same durability and driveability as Proline?

PL lockdown - Revenger
PL fugetive - Defenders
PL blockade - Y-Zip or Revenger
PL switchblade - Wasper
Dot Evo works on wet or dusty tracks and every track condition.
Wasper is like a Hole Shot/Buck Shot.
I-Blocks are amazing on dusty blue grooves.
X-Cross is like a Bow Tie.
The rubber wears like iron and the SS compound is close to a M3 PL and if sauced with PB Blaster, feels like a M4. The 5 rib inserts are like Dirt Techs so they don't break down fast like PL foams do.

A good baseline of tires would be:
Revenge in S and SS
Defenders in S and SS
Doft Evo in SS (rain)
All drivers here used to use PL lockdown as their go to tires and then fugitive when tyrewear went up.

So if I understand you correct James rubber compound is a bit harder, maybe like PL X compound?

I'm in NJ and race in the surrounding states. When the tracks groove the defender is my go to tire when tire wear is high. There were times this past summer I wish I had bought the medium compound because soft still had way too much grip on the hotter race days. So as I stated above the compounds seem in line with most other tire makers in my opinion.

As stated, the James tires are awesome, since making the switch, regardless of compounds, they do last longer than PL tires / and some AKA tires. No complaints here.
Do the new stiff wheels come with removable inserts like the Jconcepts or AKA tires?

Wheel inserts are not available yet but the wheels are stiff without them.
