couple inherent problems.
F1 motor on foam tires. 27t 17.5 or 21.5 On rubber tires 25.5 slower allowing for handling issues to be negated by slower speeds
WGT on foam 10.5 or 13.5 WGT-r 17.5 same issue.
speeds of the rubber tyre pan car classes were slowed down due to the setup issues of having taller rubber tires that flex enough to give any kind of traction that the cars will drive decent.
having to redesign the front of every 12th scale to fit smaller inside dimensions of the rim as needed to give the cars traction as anything of a hard rubber compound with out air gap and insert would cause catastrophic pushing to the point of the class not being fun. if I wanted a car that pushed I would run TC or RC drag racing.
F1 tires and TC tires you need airgap and some thickness to the sidewall for the rubber caucus to flex to get any decent turning ability.
this is why F1 and WGT-r tires are 44mm rim and 63mm rubber a 1.43 ratio.
To do that in 12th scale you would have to have either a 29mm rim for a 41mm tire or a 54mm tire for the present 38mm rim and at this point the rubber 12th scale tires wouldn't even fit under the bodies.
Just for reference tamiya mini tires are 55mm, and foam tires for the most part start out at 48mm or smaller
and at this point the Carpet Knife would have to be renamed the Carpet Spoon

We have very low margins now selling tires, which makes this impossible due to more effort required which drives up the cost. To think people will pay to have trued tires, forget it. Everyone measure tires differently and that will start another can of worms.
Before some ask, each tire mfg. is trued differently by a stone. I wont speak for BSR that mounts my foam but for them to true mine to a specific size and then change for other wheels that they mount is not possible. It is very labor intensive to true the wheel and tires for multiple mfg.'s. Trueing for large qty's is different than truing on your own personal tire truer. We have to shape the wheel and the foam.
The answer is to leave 1/12 alone and change nothing.

Yes, it's in smaller quantities compared to the overall quantity of mass produced tires, but it's still being done.

1:12 is awesome as it has been and is!
As Nashrcracer stated, the smaller id... we went through this way back when, when out TRC ZR1, IRS, AE wheels were all smaller in ID, and had a ton of foam, wheels got bigger and more room given to front end design, which was a good thing. ..
....looks like regress to me, which is dumb...if you cant come to grips with 1/12... then perhaps the class is not for you, but perhaps Tamiya M-chassis is!

Time for my 2cents: I started racing when there was only 1/12th stock and modified. I put my last 1/12th down years ago but resently came back with the CK25. I've been racing WGT then went only WGT-R and F1 and now GT12 Racing USA here in Florida. Our fl. guys run this with 21.5 ,WGT-R tires and any GT body. Hopefully an expo class at the Snowbirds this year. If they made rubber tires realistic to the cars with the same rubber CRC makes for the WGT-R class we would run that class.the tires and rims should look like the fit the car. Actually the WGT-R tires should have a smaller side wall(Just my opinionj).

I actually want to know , with all the people who say rubber tires are the way . How many of them just started racing in the last 3 years and how many more than 10...
