I get about a half hour of mixed speed bashing in my backyard. It easily does standing backflips and will do doubles off a 3ft kicker ramp. At blinding, nearly uncontrollable speed on flat pavement, if you squeeze the trigger the rest of the way too suddenly it will instantly wheelie right over backwards.
It's a monster and I love it.
I ran a 19T pinion for an afternoon and it was just stupid. Way too much for the size of my yard.

I run the Tekin 4038 truggy series 1350kV with an SMC True Spec Premium 4500mah 6s pack, a Tekno 17T pinion, the Tekno steel spur gear (the stock plastic one didn't last a day on this combo), and Pro-Line Trencher 40 series tires with 1/2in extenders on all four corners.

I just tried running a 6S setup for the first time. 1550kv motor with a 14 tooth pinion. I’m also using a 48 tooth steel spur instead of the stock 44 tooth.
It got REALLY hot. I mean 200 F hot after 10 minutes. I was running through short grass and that doesn’t help. But I wonder if the pinion was actually too small? There’s no outside friction going on here: bearings are good and drive train turns smoothly when not engaged to the motor.
Thoughts?

This worries me since i will be running the 1550kv on 6s when i gets here. Its scheduled to arrive tommorow. I hope heat isnt an issue. I heard a 17t pinion is where i wanna be.

I’m betting I was just under geared. I’m gonna try a 16 pinion next. But I’m afraid to ‘cause it was stupid fast with the 14!

Tekin 1350, 6s SMC, Proline Mashers (which were discontinued recently I just noticed) with a 16 tooth pinion and this thing was a blast! No heat issues whatsoever and I ran it pretty hard. Motor was only warm to the touch. I am pleased.
