Hi Guys,

The Rev 8.5 is up for order, the rest of the new stuff should be on-line tonight.

The new front suspension pieces should be available next week for order.

wow, that is some serious angle on those tie rods, what does that do for this car handling wise?

appears due to the two posts, limiting servo position, with links in front or behind the saver, angle is huge compared to other cars, seems to work well though for them

Hi Guys,

On our cars, if you run the links to the front of the saver you can go from a medium to large differential of tie rod sweep, and if you mount to the back of the saver, from zero to moderate.

Have a great day.-Bruce

Changing the angle of the tie rods adjusts the sweeping motion changing the ackerman.
Ackerman is the difference in the angle of the two wheels going through the corner and can change how the car acts and responds. What you see is what we have done for a few years now and I want to say the first to try it was Cyrul. Some tracks it works really well and some I pull some out and run run less. layout depending.

We've run a ton of Ackerman forever. Since the mid-90's on my personal cars and the team guys cars I worked on. It seems like our cars are always smoother and most importantly, more efficient with this set-up.

Of course, everyone has their own preferences. You have to try it out for yourself with some good back to back testing to see if it works for you.

Checking my News section real quick, you can see Dumas's Mod car from 2005 Cleveland with the Old Skool suspension.

That was our standard set-up/sweep angle, and pretty much still is.

Have a great day.-Bruce

New Chassis proved excellent in Cleveland over the weekend! 6th and 7th in the A.

After eyeballing Speedmerchant's for years I'm very tempted to finally pull the trigger but I want the inline only kit. I currently run an X12-2017 and I like it but the front end slop is insane (and I'm very skeptical of any improvement in this regard on the X12-2018). Anyway, is this Inline Only REV 8.5 kit available?

The New kit should come with the option for both in-line and transverse.

Yes I know, but the inline only version is different. Chassis plate is narrower and side links are angled inward.

Email Bruce at [email protected]
He can answer your question.

The RoadKill 10 is the only SM car that has the in-line chassis with angled side-links that I have seen.

The "i" version as seen here - https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...a29f163b1.jpeg
It was mentioned in the Speedmerchant news as well...
"The new Rev 8.5 and RoadKill 10 Carpet, and the 8.5i variant Chassis/Bottom Plate"
I'm just hoping the "i" version is real thing and not just a factory team special.
