So.. to get back on topic... I just want to ensure everyone is aware of the past weeks performance in Las Vegas. Across all TC classes there was a significant presence of Awesomatix A800 and A800X cars not just in the pits, or in the top 10 but really the top 20-30 cars per class. It was truly an amazing to see ... And I think talks to the quality of the product being made by Oleg. Thank you Oleg.
And to give some airtime to the top finishers per class-
Mod TC top finisher - 4th - Mike Gee
17.5 TC - TQ + Win - Kyle Klingforth
21.5 TC - TQ + Win - Michael Toth
Spec GT - Win - Chris Kemper ; TQ - Bill Sydor
Amateur TC TQ + Win - Michael Kamali

I still can't believe the lack of response from other manufactures to the Awesomtix A800 design - specifically the rotary shocks which have so many advantages. Serpent is the only one to make an attempt to counter the clear superiority of Oleg's design. Top dogs like Xray, and Yokomo didn't need to yet but there is about 10 other manufactures with nothing to lose that have missed the opportunity to step up. The next manufacture to adopt the rotary shock system will sell some cars.

Wanting to jump ship from Associated and try an A800.
Will only be running indoor on smallish medium/high grip track with 17.5T but eventually I see is moving to 21.5T for stock.
A team driver told me that most prefer the A800 over the X for Spec racing. Is this something I should worry about?
Also was told that a new version will be out January. The A800XA just came back in stock so not sure if I should wait it get one of the XAs now...

i suspect a 2018 car -- but depending upon how your racing program is going now... do you really want to wait another 3m?
a800 vs a800x -- cars are close by different. last winter the Awesomatix USA team "finished" their winter season running the a800 series for the most part, although i jumped to the a800x asap. as of march/april the team started cutting over to the a800x cars and we got the same, or even better results in 2017 at IIC with the new cars...

It hasn't caught on here in Vegas, I've seen 3-4 drivers try it and sell it within weeks. It's a tough car to wrap your head around but imo once you "get it" there's nothing better. Actually easy to tune once you understand how the suspension works and adjusts. I feel it's much simpler than traditional suspensions and NOT having to worry about piston sizes, spring rates, matching springs, shock pre load, vented or not...i'm tickled pink not having to touch a "shock" ever again.

A800 vs A800x
Took a little bit of a break from RC racing and want to know what exactly is the difference between the 800 and the 800X? is the VTD more less the same as the DL? Have an 800 now but contemplating the 800X. Mainly going to run 17.5 on gray crc carpet. Thanks in advance!

Think I'm going to bite the bullet and order an A800XA.
What's a good set of spares to start with without going too overboard...
