Is F1 at WCRC 25.5 or 21.5?

Default Few Updates

Before we announce our fall/winter race dates and classes, we'd like to put a feeler out there for a few things.

First off, as the demand to slow stock touring cars down a bit has become more prevalent, we're proposing making 21.5t the new "stock" motor. This will not change nor remove 17.5t touring car, just simply rename it to "Pro Stock".

Now, with that being said, here is what we're going to do with the new stock class. Instead of playing the motor of the week game, we're going to make it easy for everyone, and choose the motor for you. It will be the Hobbywing sealed/locked 21.5, and it must be purchased from our store. No if ands or buts. Weight will remain the same, 1350 grams, voltage will stay at 8.40v, blinky esc, body rules and right height will also apply. There will only be one tire for the class, that will be determined within the next few days.

Next, let's talk 1/12. We're also going to be adding a 1/12 class, it will be 17.5. Blinky esc, 4.20v max, body, weight, ride height rules still apply. Another class that people want slowed down, so here it is. 13.5 won't go away.

WGT-R...... What can we say, it's slow, it can be boring, and we don't like boring. So we propose a motor change, to a sealed Hobbywing 13.5. Also must be purchased at WCRC. All other rules stay the same.

Questions? Comments? Let's hear it.

For someone that's never run carpet, what needs to change most in setup. Did very little other the gearing changes over summer running USGT on pavement.

Arg, I'm at work, I will spend a few minutes tonight to try to weigh in on the classes situation

-Billy- start with a setup sheet from your manufacturer for similar carpet, going from asphalt to carpet is a significant difference, I would imagine just about everything will change, gearing, shocks, roll centers, ride height, diff types, diff settings, alignment settings, everything

Show up and ask a few racers. You will get a pretty good idea on how to set up your chassis.

You can always check the Wiki pages, on RCTech to find some kit set-ups, for high traction carpet.

I have seen other tracks who run a 21.5 class. I think a restriction to certain motor is a very good idea. What about speed controls and tires?

One unrelated item. I would suggest that you consider running off road and on road races on the same day. Many racers like to race both, and would rather come to the track once a week. It has been successful in other places. You may get more people through the doors.

Wil you also have that 21.5 Hobbywing motor available in a combo with the Hobbywing ESC?

I think they will be using the locked time and endbell motor , I think it is the Black can motor . which is fairly inexpensive.

Hi there, what kind of classes do you have for off-road racing, or is that leisure only? Looking for a place to run a 4wd buggy I just picked up and am waiting to buy a motor based on local track classes.

Thanks!

Once you get a setup sheet for your car for carpet, download this to help you see what changes might be beneficial for your car. The brand does not matter, most of the information is universal-
