I got my first st of Protoform VTA tires and wheels today .

I noticed that the rubber is a little harder ( good for BLK carpet) .
The tires fit on the rim tighter( also good) and the sidewall of the tire seems to be slighty shorter maybe a 1/32 " or so
Looking good

Default New wheels

New wheels don't take the dye like the old wheels did. But happy to have availability again!!

First time out on the new protoform tires was horrible. Like driving on ice. Was told about using liquid wrench and that would soften them up. Soaked them for a couple of days before next race. It was like night and day. Had great results second time out with them no saucing whatsoever the whole day. This was on asphalt. New pf mustang was great too.

Great to hear, Josh. Just like with any new tire, it will always take a few days of testing and tuning to get the preparation perfect. Glad to hear you found success with Liquid Wrench.

Has anyone ran the new tires on the black carpet and what did you have to do to them?

I know some have been running them at The Gate. I don't think the're doing anything special, just the standard SXT.

..builing a VTA car now ...I also placed an order for a set of front + back wheels and tires ...also the '71 camaro body ..all from Protoform. My dad had a '71 camaro, I grew up around that car ...so had to go w/ that one.

I like the wheels, yet wished that Protoform carried something more like the 5 spoke chrome wheels that were present on the muscle cars of that period ..the 7 or 8 spokes look more like MG/Mini wheels to me. ...but everyone is a critic. Still love that Protoform offers all this stuff for us.

Cragar SS wheels! They still are THE wheel I think many of us think of as iconic for the period. Guys usually bought the nice wheels WAY before they did a thing to the car. That and a good AM/FM/Cassette stereo.
