Either Sanwa and Futaba are great. Any if their radios will be fine dependant on your budget. I favour the feel and ease of use of the Sanwa radios and I have never had a piece of Sanwa equipment fail since I moved over from KO about 15 years ago. If you can goto a hobby store and try both in your hands and get the one most comfortable for you.

I honestly wouldn't risk Spektrum it just doesn't play nice with some ESCs and servos not to mention it's own brand stuff - some recievers work others don't. Seen too many people with issues. I just wouldn't trust it whereas I never worry about radio issues with my Sanwa kit. When I'm on the drivers stand about to start an A main I just don't want the worry of my transmitter having an android spasm or something

My budget is now tight due to medical bills but I'm hoping to try the Sanwa MT4 & see how it feels

Yeah I understand budgets are always difficult. I think it's better to wait a while to save for the right thing than rush into something that you'll regret later on. I believe the MT4 is great value for money. You see the odd unit on eBay and on here sometimes second hand which would be good to consider.

+1 for the MT-4 for a budget setup. For new MX-V pricing you can just about get a used MT-4. I also like the MT-4 since you can still run the older (cheaper) fhhs-2 receivers as well as the fhhs-4. Something you can't do with the newer radio's

If you go to your local track there will probably be someone there with a mt4 or mt4-s if you want to see how they feel. Some tracks/hobby shops also have consignment setups and you might find a used radio there.

You did great!! I have the M12S and pay $75 each for my rx's, and that is on the cheap side.
