Just some slightly thicker o-rings sorted the heave damper leakage issue for me. That's in mod racing too.

You guys have gotta try the new parts. The VTD, linear pullrods and the short RRS links. Together with the much harder roll damper oil (2 hole with 12k oil or no hole 2k oil). This has made a tremendous difference to my car on asphalt. I no longer have the unpredictable rear end! Very happy!

New parts for my 4X are waiting for me at my LHS but I tried some of the new roll damper/centre philosophy from Wilcks setup recently and agree ... best change ever!
Zero hole roll damper and 2mm shims instead of 3 for roll center. Super easy to drive out of the corners - I could get on throttle way earlier and punch my way out.

Definately turned a corner on the setup of this platform. I'm still totally convinced that there is so much more to come as well!!

Desoto or RCMarket (they seem to get stuff first as I guess they are nearest the factory).

I mainly run on high grip carpet. If I wanted to go with the VTD, is it best cut the centerspline or have people left the spline intact?

You need to have the centre spline cut or run the new short front part only (401746) The VTD is designed that way. Viktor has been running with both H bracket stiffeners removed as well with the VTD installed.

I just ordered some parts from RC market, many years after my last order, which was quite deceiving in term of availability...

Everybody deserves a second chance :-)

RcJaz is a great site that sells serpent. Hong Kong based. Lots of 4x parts.

Shipping was only 3 bucks to the US for the linear suspension set.

I'm looking for some feed-backs about the new parts...

From what I understand, the 401742 has been designed to provide linear feeling from the shocks, that's quite clear.

But what about the new steering rack (401745)? I suppose that it will modify the ackermann of the car, did somebody already try that?

What's the point with the new bumper top plate (401716)?

And the new roll damper support (401717), with 7mm instead of 8mm, I suppose it will make the roll part harder.

And Right servo plate (401718)? seriously?

Please, don't become Awesomatix!

Only one I can comment on is the front bumper support. It's so the body posts don't go through the crease on some bodies. Like the Is-200 that I use on my stock car. The posts come right through the corner of the "hood" area. As for the other parts i'm not much help there as I haven't used them yet.

The 3 main updates to the car which are definately worth adding and make a tremendous difference is the VTD, RRS links and the linear pull rods. For now forget the rest as I don't believe make a huge difference.

401716 as above to narrow the body posts as some bodies don't fit the existing wide configuration very well.

401717 - I don't think this was ever released. Never seen it or heard anyone talk about it within the team.

401745 - I believe this was cancelled and never made/released.

401718 - hasn't been released yet but it just improves the way the servo mounts and influences flex.

Updates to a car is natural as the platform matures. I wouldn't be surprised if a 4x Evo 2 appears by the end of the year but for now I've added the main performance influencing parts to my car VTD, RRS, Short pull rods and the car is amazing.

I just cut some mock 401717s and threw them on.

Substantially stiffer roll. Going to try them tomorrow.

What do you mean don't become Awesomatix?
I think the right servo plate will be for those who want to run a shorty battery and mount the servo on the battery side. The new bumper plate is in the latest kits and I would assume we will see the kits rolling out with the new linear mounts standard and maybe the RRS link plates. I don't think the top deck will be a kit item. Interested to hear your thoughts on the short roll supports. My cars been amazing since I installed the new parts.
