Hi
I have a problem with my trackstar smart programing box, esc gen ii 120a and a trackstar 10.5t brushless motor.
i have this combo on my trf417 and a tamiya tt02 type s.
I usually connect the programing box to the esc, to make some setup changes, but when i go to Motor Timing, it says "push to start", so i do it and then it says " sending to esc, please wait", the esc flashes once green and the red, and the time goes on and nothing happends.
i have tried taking the can timing to the minimium value, 0 and the maximium but i can not set up the motor timing.
Also i have the boost timing and the turbo timing just stock, i do not use them
I apreciate your help with this problem, i have wrote to HobbyKing and they already sent me a new smart box telling me that was the problem; i have tried this procedure with 2 or 3 smart boxes and the same happends.
Thanks for your help

Have good luck with my 120A Trackstar and Trackstar 17.5 in my Bandit for bashing... But one suggestion, take it out of auto LVC configuration and set it to 3.0 - mine would die out after a while, and then be ok once I restarted. Figured out what the problem was while racing my SC10 with a Hobbywing ESC/Trinity D4 setup and applied it to the Trackstar, all good now

I just got a tlr 22-4 and decided to try out a Turnigy Trackstar 120A turbo esc and 5.5. All I can say is wow. I'm totally surprised how smooth power delivery is and how controllable (for a 5.5 turn motor) it is. Does anyone know how the drive frequency setting affects power delivery? There were a few other settings on the programmer that I didn't fully understand but I can't recall right now...
What is a safe operating temperature for the esc's? I temped mine on a couple of runs and it was around the 120 degree F mark.

The higher the Frequency the smoother the power delivery is.
Good for low traction conditions. You will notice you have to apply more throttle input for the same speed you are use too. I like 8KHZ which is default setting. Same for the brake frequency .

Only have had v1's. The only time mine ever did this was if I had the turbo set to high. I think it would over clock past 60' and cause it to stop then all of a sudden accelerate again.
I would take out all timing and just use the endbell first. If that fixes it then add boost/turbo slowely.
Also could be the low voltage cutoff is to sensitive. Try lowering to a minimum.

Hi - I have 2 Turnigy Trackstar Turbo 80a esc and I am facing following issue on both : when I go reverse, I can not go forward before the car stops. This is a big issue as there is no way to brake before car stops by itself. Note that I do not have this issue with my other esc and I have done proper calibration on both.
How can I change the settings to avoid this ?
Thanks
Julien
