Balance board? I connect both deans connectors from battery to charger then I plug the micro plug on the battery to the front of the charger. I feel like an idiot over charging batteries but i know when I first checked the volts it was over 10, both cells were 5.2 somthing

Looking at the specs on that charger it seems to be a basic easy to use unit. Pretty much idiot proof and with safe start and safe peak technology.
It seems you have charged your battery correctly using the built in balance jack in the front of it. Just make sure you are inputting the correct info with the battery capacity at 5000ma. It will select the correct charge rate from there.
And yes it has a store mode feature.

Leaving the packs fully charged will reduce their lifespan, especially at higher temperatures, I'd recommend using the packs for a few minutes to lower the voltage.
Also if one pack was really charged to 10V that can be quite dangerous, I wouldn't risk running that charger anymore. Take it back to the shop and replace it for some other type that can discharge as well.
