Hi guys, hope somebody can help.

Just finished my first proper race meet with my 419 on pretty low grip carpet.

Car felt terrible really. Back end kicking out on power and bugger all turn in.

The setup I used was very similar to this other than I ran 6 front droop and 5 rear.

Fresh set of sorex 28 blacks.

13.5 boosted, fairly technical track with some fast sections.

Any tips on what to change for next time? I was thinking of changing to yokomo blue all round rather than pink front and blue rear but I'm open to suggestions!

I would try a lower weight oil in the rear differential from what that setup suggests.

Just discovered that even after drilling a couple extra holes on ARC spur gears, that they are about .1/.2mm too thick to fit. What gears fit this chassis?

Nope, that will make the rear spool out around the Alex on low grip surfaces, making it slide out. Really n 3000 oil.

Also move to damper pos 3 at the rear.

XA - D (or E if you want 3 degrees at the rear). A narrower rear end really helps the grip at the back on the 419.

If it's low grip and technical also go for 2 degree for front camber.

Hi guys,

Quick question for this:
http://www.thercracer.com/2016/11/thercracer-tamiya-trf419x-floating.html?m=0

I am just about to test it and found 4mm spacer each raise the steering horn up by 3mm as a result link hitting a bit top deck.
Servo Arm length from chassis is 13mm as kit setup. I achieved the same with 7mm spacers and 15mm screw.
Did i do something wrong when followed intsruction or this amount of shims has to be used?

Thanks
Marton

Default Future of TRF

The future of TRF pro kits (e.g. TRF419X) seems vague to me based on the article. Does that mean the likelihood of TRF EP Kit series (excluding MS EVO series) is ending and TRF419X may be the last true breed TRF pro kit?

Result of the test is the car is still great, good handling !
However setting required 7mm shims to reach KIT high level.
Overall i ended up on P3 today but it was driven i had almost broken C-hub which i realised late and P1 was very strong but this time i had the best laptime

I don't think anyone knows. Maybe not even Tamiya themself knows yet. Hope the critisism regarding Tamiya TC pro racing reaches all the way to Japan.
Personally I have doubts about it, maybe they come out with a new TRF419/420 but all stops after that same as happened with Tamiya off road racing kits.

But I hope that they instead would put all the money they save from pro drivers salary, travelling and other costs would go back into a aggressive development programme for TC pro racing kits and parts. Something that would benefit all the paying customers and would be another way to bring a top level racing kit to the market.
I really do believe you don't need top drivers to develop the best car as long the energy and commitment is there at the design office to build the best car.

Looks great. If hadn't gotten one for Christmas, I'd be all over it.
