I didn't know there were fake futaba's but i doubt it was fake cause i bought it in Japan in one of the more reputable stores there.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of fake stuff out there.

I know nothing of the electric cars but I did come across an interesting FB discussion talking about imitation Castle stuff and how to tell the difference by looking at how the wording is written on the wires and some other little detail I forget what is was.

There's some fake Sanwa stuff going around now that's obvious because of the ridiculous too good to be true low prices.

Most of the best names of anything are going to have fakes.

I put a pair of 9373sv's in my D815 and straight out of the box they were super noisy, ran extremely hot and chewed more amps than any servo I have ran. I thought they were faulty so emailed Futaba and they confirmed that is normal for the servos to run like that
They have tested and the heat supposedly doesn't cause any issue...
So I'm running them cause the speed and torque is good and they cost too much to not run hah.
Will see how long they last

I have a 9372 that's real super noisy.

When it's pulling on the carb it makes noise without a throttle ret spring and with the spring connected, it's worse. Just plain noisy no matter what I do.

So they told you it's normal?

It's a new servo I paid 149 for but I'm really not wanting to use it. It just doesn't seem safe to me like it's not normal and would cause a runaway.

Yea mine sounded terrible even just holding slight pressure to close the carb. Return spring is a bit weak so I put some rubber bands on as well then set sub trim so there is no pressure on it and its quiet at neutral. (The rubber bands are holding it closed instead of the servo)
Have run a gallon of fuel with it and it's OK so far just have to keep rx pack topped up to keep up with their power thirst hah.

I actually just removed mine from my DNX8 and put it on the steering of my MBX5. Funny it's still real noisy even when there's no load at all and front wheels are off the ground. Just can't trust something like that for my T/B. I already have one of these Futabas in the steering in one of my MBX6Rs and it makes noise too but not as much. Just never noticed it before so it never bothered me so I guess it's a just a good steering servo.

I'm looking at maybe a Reedy 2207 for my DNX8 T/B and see how that goes.
