I have thought about converting it to a cloud app. It's just the amount of work would be staggering. I'm not saying it won't happen it's just not on the horizon anytime soon.

Sad for me too. Wish it was a simple conversion.

Now for some exciting news. The new VBC Racing WildFireD09 kit starts shipping this week and will be bundled with an exclusive RC Crew Chief special offer coupon. A dedicated version of RC3 specific to the WildFireD09 chassis model has been created for this purpose.

I wish there was an incentive to creating a model in RC3. Too time consuming for me to create my own model and if I'm paying for the software, why should I bother? Really like the idea but without any of my kits, it's limited for me.

I found incentive in improving my setup thru making setup changes to a model that accurately models MY car. I'd virtually guarantee that if making models were compensated in some way, you'd find quality decreasing as quantity increased.

If you print the PDFs, measuring and writing down those measurements doesn't take that long, maybe an hour. It's a good time to go thru the car anyway isn't it? :-)

Obviously for models that aren't supported. If I ever switch to AE/TLR, I'd probably buy it. Till then, it's not worth the cost to me. I completely understand why all models can't be added but a bigger library leads to a better product.

I'm just not confident in getting the measurements right. Garbage in/garbage out.

I do offer support via email to help those creating new models. That is the only incentive that makes sense to me. I will also review the final model to provide some assurance it looks correct by comparing it to the manual and setup sheets. If the model looks good and the creator wishes to contribute it to build the library that is always welcome. There is no requirement to contribute though.

As Erchn said if I offer a small financial incentive for creation of models I would end up with lots of models that would be of questionable value.

Thanks for the response. If I ever switch to a supported model, I'll have to consider it.

So is the D09 version exclusive to D09 owners who will get the coupon code with a new kit purchase... as in you can't buy a version with the D09 model?

There will be a D09 model available on the website that can be imported into the standard version.

Ahh, I see a decent selection of models - most of the VBC Wildfire kits - cool.

If one can build a kit, and set it up correctly, making a model for RC Crew Cheif is easier. One can get many of the measurements while building the kit.

RC3 V4.3 is now available featuring an unlimited trial period. The new version and comes with 7 pre-installed models representing the most popular RC classes. This change was made to simplify installing and getting straight into learning RC3. There is no longer any need to import models from the Website Library while in trial mode. You can download the new version here:
