New car is all black apparently...or all black as prototype to mask changes in photos. Pics from worlds:

You really think they would give their competitors the newest car?

That seems to be what the 'Infinity' drivers are doing as to keep the Xray branding down a notch. Infinity doesn't have their own car right now and have elected to run blacked-out Xrays as a plan b.

The all black is a nice departure.

Yup the all black is simply something Jilles and Andy had done custom when they picked up their cars. They are simply running '16s as their own choice, given Infinity don't have a EP TC... yet.

Hard to tell what they are really running. For instance, the car in the first shots is running a conventional rear end while the lower shots have the ARS installed with aluminum rear C hubs.

Just Sayin....

Is there any more news about when Xray will preview the Xray T4'17?

First shots are prior to controlled practice taken by SMJ for marketing.

Second lot with ARS are as run, you can tell by the markings from scrutineering on the motor, chassis and body. Must have fitted a new wing though - has no sticker.

I can personally confirm that in practise they were all (Bruno, Alex and JJ) switching between std and ARS cars each run. Mainly as I was pitting alongside the Xray team all week.
Come Control practise, qualifying and finals (with a single exception) it was ARS only.
Did hear some rumours that there was a quick switch to the standard rear end on at least one car for A3, but can't confirm that for sure mainly as I was watching finals whilst the cars were being prepped.

The general feeling was that the ARS was quicker as it gave better low speed steering for the tighter sections of the track. And the grip level was high enough to help the consistency. So most Xrays in the pits tended that way.

Perhaps the sneak preview did occur at the Xray workshop but cameras weren't allowed and everyone was sworn to secrecy?

This is what I'm guessing. I'm sure the preview happened, but since us plebs weren't at worlds we don't get to hear anything til the official XRAY announcement.
