Can someone provide some clarification on the 10mm lexan wing rule? What part has to measure 10mm? Is that distance from the body? Measurement of just the wing height itself? Thanks for the help.

It's a measurement of the wing from the flat part( parallel with the rear deck) to the top back edge of the wing. That measurement cant be taller then 10mm along with the size of the side plates of the wing, if there are separate ones.

Been using an ORCA 62 mah 100 c for over a year and zero puffing charging at 40 amps, no shortage of power throughout the 5 minutes races. Lots of good choices out there, but my next battery will be another ORCA.

The batteries I've tried
Turnagy graphine 7.5(315g)
IP 7600(330g)
Eam 8200 (325g)
Trinity carbon 6500(305
Did 300sec discharges on each pack @35a
The ip has the lowest resistance
The EAM pack had the most voltage and was only slightly higher resistance (but was 3months old )
The trinity pack had the lowest voltage/ir and somehow managed to stay the coolest at the end (15deg cooler )
The turnagy did pretty well actually but came in a close 3rd.
Trying a R1 pack next weekend (340g)
To me it comes down to weight . to balance my cars out and stay @ min weight is what I shoot for but some will say that having a slightly heavier battery and not being balanced still preform better ... It just might be true but my ocd takes over that thought process

40 Amps?

Wow, that sounds sketchy. Is that a normal thing these days? I thought the 1C rule applied to lipos.

Many racers are charging at 30-40 amps. Cycling the batteries discharging at 30-40 amps and then charging at 30 -40 amps. Believe it or not guys are running Gens Ace batteries they have 1.7 IR not bad SMC Batteries have a lower IR 1.2. Sometimes price isn't the best way to buy batteries I have LRP 7000mah they have a IR 3.5 OK for mod horrible for spec. Racing.

As far as I know, 1C is still the ROAR rules. But I think most people/tracks don't care. 1C used to be pretty mandatory, but with the latest generations of Lipos it's not so much a worry. People are safely charging much much higher. But you can't go wrong at 1C. That's still the "recommended" rate if you want your packs to last as long as possible. But you'll get a little performance increase charging higher at the risk of longevity of life.

ROAR and 1C????? you'd have to show me in print. I've not seen that in the rules. I have seen a few tracks that requested 1C but unless someone rats you out who would ever know. Ive not seen a battery charging Cop at any races I've attended.

From the current ROAR rules:

"8.3.2.5.3 Li-Poly battery maximum charge rate shall be 1C. C= charge amp rate. Charge amp rate = mAh capacity/1000=XAmps"

One way to enforce this would be to have a charging table in tech, where the batteries are monitored. I have not heard that it has yet happened.

As far as I know, the USGT rules do not have this requirement.

So, im considering the idea of converting my mod sedan to a usgt (everyone around here wont run mod sedan-babies!), and im curious what the hot go to body is on thw new crc carpet? Looks like the cadillac, with second being the z28? Any other well balanced or good handling bodies? I like a car that is balanced, slightly more nose grip, and rotates well mid corner. Sedan obviously has go to bodies, so what do i need to stock here?

Thank you i was just stepping back through he pages. I love the newwer nsx tamiya body, but not sure how sturdy or well built those are compared to a typical lexan body youd end up going through..
