You never need to check rear toe. Front I eyeball and then get it all setup with a set of calipers. Camber is easy, $5 aver gauge, done.

In 23 + years never needed or wanted a setup station, still don't know one person that runs off-road that uses one.

I check toe with a camber guage. Turn the car on and put both front tires one the edge of a table. Then put the camber guage on the inside of the wheel and the table. This method is very accurate, never trust eyeballing it.

Looking to try out carpet off-road for the first time. If guys at the track are running Proline pinpoints and wedges is it safe to say Schumacher Staggers and Mini Pins will work?

Excuse the dumb question, but can I use electrical tape to tie the 3 motor wires together for neatness instead of shrink wrap? Or is the heat through the insulated wires going to melt the tape? This is on 17.5...

That's the link to mip's online store. It's a shim kit. Cost is $9.00

Electric tape will be fine. Just might not look as neat.

Cool, thanks for the info!

B6 is crazy... completely stock (except for slipper eliminator) with full size shorty, full size servo, big receiver (RX-462), and a temp sensor, voltage sensor... weighs in at 1508.

Large shims go inside the gearbox case on the outdrives, against the bearing, I'm guessing the smalls one go on the end of the dog bones / axel inside the rear hub. The MIP B5 ball diff is about 4 mm narrower than the B6 ball diff. The B6 also has 2mm shims for the gear diff that you can use with the MIP unit. Associated also has a diff shim part # 1733, but they are really thin, might work out on the hub side.

Just built my B6 with B5 MIP bimetal diff, spacers from the gear diff, no spacers on the hub side yet. I think it's going to be OK, at full droop the flats on the puck are fully inside the outdrives. Hobby shop was out of PN 1733 so I will add when they come in.
