Do you guys think associated will come out with a narrow front buggy wheel to fit the Schumacher cut staggers? They put out a carpet car, now where are the associated wheels to use right out of the pack.

I am fortunate to have a lathe at work and I just bob off the inside of the wheel to make them narrow but it's kind of like, seriously???

B5m used the 2 inch turnbuckles...which are 50.8mm. You may not have an issue with them being slightly longer but I know JC is coming out with a B6 specific kit.

That's a lot of work, normally we just cut them with body scissors. They are also available in a premount.

JsK, did your track remove dirt to put in a rug?

I took the time to go back and find Sockets post, I don't see an issue with it. It's a simple short answer.

And honestly, it was nicer than most of his posts..

Wouldn't longer b5m turnbuckles mean you could install them on the b6 without threads showing? Look at the steering links on the b6 pics - threads showing.

I measured my jc b5m turnbuckles at aprox 51mm each as you stated, but the b5m manual says all the b5m ti turnbuckles are 1.875" which equals 47.6mm.

Nope dirt on dirt, we did lay plastic as a vapor barrier.

If you like TC racing.
We did the dirt thing, without humidity or temperature control its a disaster,Or at least our dirt was. It was a long process to make this decision. A lot of factors to consider and in the end we all agreed this was the best course.

AstroTurf is everything clay promised but never delivered. Clean, consistent, less labor intensive and more fun.

The track is not as flat as it looks and there is some interesting traction issues with the grain of the turf thats keeping people on there toes.

People are buying up all the used 2wd buggies they can find and interest is way up even in the summer. For us this was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Our local track in Exeter had clay issues and ended up not racing and just doing parties, so carpet is a great alternative to not having anything.

Got to see one of the designers run the B6 this weekend on astro and all I can say is Wow! I think Schumacher and Yokomo are going to have a new kid on the block to contend with on carpet/astro

I assure you using a lathe is faster than body scissors. Plus you don't dull your scissors. I debated taking a video because it's pretty cool. I also take off the inner rib on the wheel because I've found on the front associated wheels there isn't really a big enough gap between the outer rib and the inner for the tire to seat perfectly flat. Schumacher wheels are absolutely superior to the associated wheels if you plan to mount the cut staggers. The back wheels are equals. It's just the fronts...

I don't buy Schumacher wheels or pre mounts because they are so over priced. Too bad tower doesn't sell Schumacher...

Amain recently had a two day sale 15 off 75 dollars with 1.99 priority mail. I bought 7 sets of rear tires and 6 sets of fronts. And of coarse I had a friend order half the order so it was 30 off total rather than just 15!! Yes I'm that cheap.... And tower has great prices on associated wheels, I just wish they didn't suck so much for Schumacher tires!!!

Has anyone tried the j concepts narrow buggy wheel with Schumacher tires??

Shame on me for not checking if tower sold the slim j concepts buggy wheels because they totally do!!! And they are cheaper than schumacher!! Plus, the rib spacing looks appropriate for the cut staggers tires!! Too bad I just mounted 5 sets of fronts yesterday on associated wheels!
