A savox 1258 will be fine for you. they are cheap and pretty decent for 1/10 buggy.

Some speed controls only supply 5 volts and some receivers can't handle voltages above 6, but they are getting to be few and far between.

If you can share what radio system and speed control you are using we can let you know if there might be compatibility issues.
I have used Xpert servos with great success. If you want a shorty, the Pi-3402 ($105) is a great choice. If you want a full size, the Si-4431 ($80) is a perfect fit. Both operate faster than the speed and have more torque than you are asking at 6V. I find they draw very little power over a run.

I ran these before I was sponsored because I was tired of Savox needing high voltage/amperage and the price range of the KO servos.

Ryan Cavalieri is running the Savox 1258t, a $60 servo. So thats a pretty cheap servo that can be used at the highest level

And to anyone who says it doesn't work with Spektrum: I use it that way. The only problem I can confirm is when using cheap ESC's!

I'm a fan of the XP 1015 and 1013; but the Reedy Servos seem to priced comparably. Protek is next on my list to try.

I run a protek 130ss in a couple of my cars and it's awesome but you need a stout BEC to run it because it draws such a high current. I run these with my tekin gen 2s because of the 5 amp BECs. I run savox 1258 or spektrum 6040/6240 with my hobbywing escs with no problems as well. All using airtronics radios.

The body doesnt cover the spur gearon a traditional stand up transmission so you use a gear cover. On the laydown transmission the body is designed to cover everything. No need to cover it twice.

I like the specs on the 160T. Good speed and torque.

Yeah me too I just would never need that much torque in a 1/10 scale

I'd love to see that servo opened up to see what's inside of his version. Could be the same retail thing, but I would not be surprised at all if it used higher quality stuff -- a very typical move in all sports and hobbies.
