What is the actual benefit of the lay down transmission? There are some obvious weight distribution changes.. does it help with corner speed.. etc?

more corner speed. More predictable under hard braking.

At the sacrifice of rear bite.

Thumbs up B5M to B6 or Laydown Conversion

Will Associated be offering a conversion to convert your B5m to a B6 or a lay down conversion or is this a totally different car, doesn't look that different?
Looks like the B6D is a good option for 17.5 racing !

I'm sure they will. Except it'll come in kit form. You buy the B6D or B6 kit, take off your b5m body, roll the b6d or b6 kit under your body, then put it on. Boom, converted.

Totally different....I could see a B6D to B6 conversion but nothing B5 related.

Wrong.....sell your car for maybe $125. But the b6 from tower for 309.99- coupon code. Boom you have converted for less than the cost of the anders tranny.
