Default LifePo4 Battery to replace 4AA's

So after more time than I care to invest searching for an answer to this I decided to ask a question.

I have been using a LifePo4 pack in my Futaba 3PL transmitter and am pleased with the results. I am now wanting to source one for my sons' car and am running into an issue.

Does anyone know of a 6.6V LifePo4 battery pack that will fit in the same space as a 4AA cell battery holder? Preferably one with a 2 pin red plug on it.

The physical dimensions really need to be within a length of 60mm, width of 55mm and height of 16mm.

I'm sure there may be some really small ones out there that fit but I was hoping to find something over 1500mAh.

Anyhow thanks for any info.

Can you point to the lifepo you are using in the 3PL? I have the same radio and would switch if there were an adapter or something that fit well.

I'm using a Turnigy nano-Tech 2100 mAh from Hobbyking. Paid about $14 for it. It wasn't plug and play however. I had to cut the wires on the original battery holder and put the Futaba connector on them so I could plug the battery in. It was simple to do and works perfectly.

Thanks, I don't mind putting on my own connector, does the battery fit pretty well or did you need to use foam spacers and such?

Check out the Hobbico LiFe's on eBay, the 1300mah and 1100mah are close, but a little big in one dimension or another.

It is not a perfect fit in that you do need to support it with foam. But all in all that's a really minor issue.

And thanks for the heads up. I'll look through those.
