I got a Wheely King over the holidays. Instantly love it. I have learned a lot from tinkering with it and researching online about RC Monster Trucks. So I decided to do a custom build. The main thing I want is a brushless, solid axle rig. So I saw a lot of people use the Axial platform for custom builds. What other transmissions besides the Axial's can I use? I've looked at the WK and Ground Pounder already.

How about the chain drive trans from the Kyosho Mad Force Kruiser VE? Definitely something different and appears possible. That's the first idea I had come into my head while reading your post.

I personally think the Axial trans is one of the better options. Pretty tough stock, aftermarket to make it tougher, compact and easy to mount on a center skid.

One trans I don't see listed is the Traxxas Emaxx trans. They're a bigger trans so the truck needs to be on the larger side. But they're available as a 2 speed and should prove to be plenty tough for just about whatever you come up with.

The size is gonna be 1/10 scale. I am using Axial AX10 axles. I wanted to use AR60, but I'm building on a budget. I thought about the EMaxx but it might be too big. The drive chain seems a lil too advance.
