I've had my .2e for 6 months now, new from amazon for 440. Amazing truck really, like most I've broken nothing beyond the front bumper. I live 10 miles from t bone racing so I just went in and bought the basher bumper, saved on shipping. Stock servo was dead out of the box and I had a savox and another ae servo go up in smoke pretty quick too. I didn't listen to the advice and ran my rtr without going over all the screws to metal with thread lock. Lost both lower steering block screws and bushings within 5 minutes. Grub screw came loose from rear input cup, tossed the shaft, cup and bearing bashing in the street.
My diffs were also missing the second set of washers behind the outputs, found out after my diff leaked out after 30 packs. Ae sent me 3 rebuild kits and oil, very happy with their customer service. They have replaced 2 of my servos now as well, upgrading me to the ds1510 last time. Savox 251 is doing fine with glitch buster installed so the 1510 is sitting as backup.
The sc1300bl esc and reedy 2000kv motor have done their job. As long as I am conservative with my throttle and don't run to long in 80f+ temps my motor stays cool enough. It does seem like a hot running motor but it's pushing a 10 lb truck around at 40mph. Winter now so temps of my electronics aren't an issue, geared 18/46 for cold weather.
I heard over and over that the top plate and motor mount MUST be upgraded, simply not true at least for me. I am not really one to be swapping pinion gears all the time so the adjustable mount was just not worth it imo. Same with the top plate, why fix something thats not broken.
Anyway it's been a great truck, never fails to put a smile on my face and impress others. My rc18t was my first hobby grade rc and the .2e was my second, big difference there. 18t feels like a toy comparatively. Let's hear some more about these great trucks. Cheers.

Always glad to hear from a new SC8 brother. Welcome to the fam. I too had most of the same issues you had in the beginning, so you're right on track. And you're right, I'm STILL running the original motor mount and top plate. After all of this time I've owned this truck (almost 6 years), it STILL puts the biggest smile on my face, whether I'm racing it or just driving it around anywhere. It remains my most favorite RC I've ever owned. Throttle on bro!!

I blame you! Your sc8 experience video was watched many times while I made my decision to buy this truck. Watched again and again and, well you get the idea, while I waited for it to show up. And I've been back to your videos a time or two since. Enabler!
I just love the realistic handling and the look of this truck. Although the tbone bumper is tough it does not hold the scale appearance sadly. I mounted the rpm light bar to the roof, the 6 bucket kit, looks pretty good but I didn't want to cut a big hole for all that wire to go through my body. Ended up building a small battery box and mounting it just behind the roof. I have plans to mount a spare tire there instead and make that my battery box for the lights.
It's also ready for all the diffs to be serviced, shocks rebuilt, and bearings cleaned and lubed. Best get after it, only 4 months until I will want to run outside again.

LOL....I'll take the blame all day on that one....The SC8 needs all the attention that it deserves....I will always Love this truck....Post some pics of your truck with all those goodies on it.
I agree about the T-Bone bumper not having the realistic look, but I use them for the functionality. Less lawn darting at the track.
I'm in the process of re-servicing my truck too.....it's that time again.

just picked one of these up sunday morning, took it to the local track later that day. This thing is so fun, but was pretty hard to control on 4s with the stock tires lol. The rolls and tumbles sound so violent and I'm gonna need a new non-basher body and bumper. I had a much easier time controlling it once i switched over to 3s and kept it competitive with some teknos and losi SCTs (not bad considering my first time on a track). I let my younger brother drive it and about 20 seconds in he crashes it into a post and breaks a caster block lol. luckily its fairly inexpensive and amazon prime! Overall I'm really happy i chose this truck, it just looks so cool.

So here's my big, ugly sc8e basher with a buggy body. I think she needs some bigger/taller tires and I was hoping you guys could chime in with some suggestions. Just want to get some more clearance and all around greater bashability but I wouldn't know where to start. It has the stock reedy 2000kv and 1300 esc in case that helps if I need to change the pinion. Thanks for the input!

So having failed to sell my SC8e, which I frankly find boring on 4s, I'm now prepared to look into getting a new ESC which will allow me to run 5S or 6S. Can somebody recommend something cheap? Possibly even from HK or Banggood. Ideally with no soldering required(i.e. I'd keep the Castle 2200 motor..) The truck is basically stock. Think I have an 18t pinion in it right now, and it's too slow on 4s to be fun at all. Not looking to spend a lot. Thanks..

Yeah, but to run that I'd have to solder something I assume, as the wires are different from the Castle 2200 motor to the Hobbywing ESC.
Are there adapters I could use from the Castle motor to a HW ESC?
If I just ran 5s on the stock ESC would it go up in flames?

Old thread here with lots of info!
I'm looking for some direction on a shock upgrade/replacement for my SC8 nitro that I've converted over to electric. From what I understand, I have the V1 RTR shocks currently. What all is compatible for my SC8? Recommendations? Thanks!
