Two 1/12 cars can be the same on paper but have one weigh a full two ounces more than the other because sometimes weight is hard to see. Sometimes it looks like slightly longer or heavier gauge wires, an extra or different capacitor, different wheels, metal gears in the servo, a few choice aluminum or titanium screws, a different type of body painted in multiple colors or plastered with decals (as opposed to John, who is apparently running the stormtrooper outfit on his Xray), that sort of thing.
I've heard stories of racers back in the day who raced cars like 12L's and Delta's that looked more or less stock, but in truth there was no steel anywhere in the car at all, saving like 35-40g over a stock kit.

Hi guys, any ideas on this?
I'm having problems of the rear coming suddenly around on a new track I run at.
Its at high speed making (end of the straight) a tight turn, it looks like the moment I go off throttle the rear comes around.
I'm guessing:
1. the chassis throws the weight forward too much
2. the inside wheel lifts
To solve 1, would heavier center shock oil help? Seems so weird to do to solve this; maybe stronger center spring and sauce the front less.
To solve 2, no idea, meaybe softer side springs (damper oil is already on the soft side).
Thanks

I have a setup for the V-Dezign ( if your friends running the cr-v) that is my go to setup for most tracks, and it works with all tires ive tried. have him try it . It should work well for him. I usually run AE black side springs unless i need a little more mid corner grip and then i go to AE greens or sometimes AE silvers.

super geeky 12th question. Does anyone know where to find left and right hand bent body clips that are suitable for 12th bodies? The only ones I find are enormous and when I bend them my self they end up opening up slightly and not holding well. What are your favorites?

The black CRC clips and the associated blue clips are opposite

Problem solved, car was glued to the track friday.
I made a new top damperplate that was longer so the shock would be more to the front, as the xray's have. After that I put the front of the shock into a high position to gain some more steering. Problem of the rear sliding was gone.
Very happy with how the car is driving at this moment, I'm actually having second doubts of cutting a new chassis now

Hi guys. I'd like to know how can I put a thrust bearing on the axle of my s120 ltx. I tryed to put zen racing on (the short one) it but it seems the original axle of my serpent ltx it's too short, the nut can't lock properly.
Have you any idea on what i've to do?
Thank you so much

Anyone got advice where to start with a ballpark rollout for 21.5 motors on 1s? Whatever it is will then be governed down with throttle epa, for my 6 yr old twins. Never know when they'll have another opportunity to run some rug with a track so close to home.
*edit*
I have another question.. do many of you shorten your servo wires? I used to a long time back, but don't remember if I opened the servo up or cut the wire and put new ends on. So what do you recommend on doing this?
*edit*
3 older crc cars and I especially love the T-bar car since I'm the kind of guy who likes old stuff. Old tools, old bikes, pretty much anything old. Love new stuff too, but I find I can have more "stuff" when I go the old route.

In all seriousness, is that box stock? No aftermarket axle and screws?
