There are some drivers that give "engineering/develop" input that the designers don't like, for example they ask for something not worthwhile, something that won't improve the car, but sounds fancy. I've heard this from a designer.

In which case it could be as simple as him getting upset that they didn't want to do whatever he demanded be done to the car, and then asking for them to release him.

"I want 17 more holes on the shocktower, that'll make the car so much more awesome"
I don't think this is too far out of bounds, he had a lot of influence on the Durango truggy, "maybe" they promised him more design opportunities ?? What good car company that already has a decent car, could use some developing? I always root for the under dog... Radiosistemi😉, please don't start with sworkz.. For all you guys getting your panties all in a bunch because of this thread, stop, let us have our soap opera drama...

no offense to carson, but this nails it.

mcbride, carson, ronnefalk etc. are crazy fast, but development should be done by others...

I would just enjoy to see his bodies take the next step and actually release the design. It showed promise. I really could care less about where he goes. It's pointless to even speculate. But the body design....that's what he needs to push. Options are always a good thing

Maybe he is referring to Carson barely making the mains at the first couple big races , he was in the c-main at dnc but bumped to the -A...I know him and his dad but I don't really care to know why he left but I like the gossip

That's a very interesting quote. But I don't think they can take him to court over it.

IP rights are a real thing today. If I work for company XYZ, and I invent, program or make 123, then company XYZ owns the rights to it. Bottom line..that's how this tech world works. Don't like it...quit, like he did.

That said, I am speculating (guessing) here....Any contract or severance I've signed, if broken and I either receive a payout/buyout OR I don't have to return monies, I sign a document for a severance. ANY and ALL severance agreements include lines around, "Won't disparage or speak negatively in a public domain about company XYZ, and if does, will forfeit $$ paid during duration or bonuses received during time or termination".

I'm not a lawyer, but I've signed several of these.

I wish I knew as much as he did, about everything, when I was 20.

He's got allot of growing up to do. I did to at 20, still do at 36,...37, can't remember. Sounds to me like he got his feelings hurt when he found out that AE didn't need to hear about how good his dad was at working on full size pro 2 trucks in the 90's. I can understand that, its good he has that kind of admiration for his dad, I'm the same way with mine.

My advice is if you've got some really ground breaking ideas as he appears to be claiming, go buy you a 3d printer and prove it. Those things are getting cheap, might not be able to make a raceworthy vehicle but you could build something that you could put on a the desk of another company to showcase your design talents. JQ had the gumption to build his own car.

But don't do a "tell all interview" trashing your former employer and have it posted on the most well known rc racing news site.
