What effect on power does carburettor inserts do ?

The elliptical inserts move the incoming air over to the side and over the spray bar, to help with low speed/ off idle runability...
I have been using the Nitromizer inserts for a while and did notice that with the normal insets, cruising around at just off idle, the engine loaded up. Now, this isn't ideal during a race to drive like that, I just wanted to see if some of the claims were true..... and they were

I did in truggy, and buggy this past weekend at the US open. The samurai already had a lot of power for the new layout, and the 8mm just made it that much touchier. I run a buku that comes on progressive and early, and with the 8mm in buggy, it was just plain too much to handle for me. In truggy it was fine, but my economy suffered and I couldn't pit at 8:30. It did however add some top end on the huge straight away.
